Joggers?

I don't care what you wear. But if wearing sweats on the course is OK, the so is wearing jeans.

 

Thankfully these aren't sweats! They're the same material as golf pants. Just a different cut.

After witnessing a group of high school/college dudes wearing capris on the course(a very upscale private course no less), I now think joggers are totally fine.

 

Are we talking, like, legit capris? Or just rolled/cuffed pants? Because I roll all my pants to above my ankle.

I'm a bit conflicted about joggers on the golf course. On the one hand, they have taken over in the gym. Even old guys are working out in joggers and I can't advocate anything that is normal for the gym being normal on the course.

 

On the other hand, there is a certain percentage of the population that have the body type to take joggers to the course. For me, I'd say you have to be under 30, probably even younger, with a skinny, athletic frame to pull them off for golf. I can't imagine being a young professional and rocking joggers on the course, but that's just me.

 

For me, at 38 yo (and still a 32 waist) to wear or not to wear joggers is a mute point but for the younger, college or high school guys I can understand it.

Wear what you want to wear mate. Forget the naysayers. If they pipe up about them let your game do the talking. Look good, Feel good, Play good. Personally I like them, and am looking for a pair myself.

If they have belt loops, I'd say they're acceptable regardless of subjective style assessments. I'd say the same for bell-bottoms, wide fitting pleated slacks, or any other fashion of the day that may or may not be my style.

 

As for a style assessment, it's not my particular style but also not my body type. I might notice them if I saw someone wearing them, but wouldn't think it inappropriate either. That said, I'm firmly of the opinion that golf needs to be more inclusive, not less.

I think they are fantastic. I am "older" but I am a fan of them. I hate when I play in pants in the morning and the cuffs get wet from the dew. This is the perfect fix. I love the Puma 6 pocket pants, so these should be perfect. I will probably get a pair of either grey or navy with my next commission check.

 

I will look into the Uniqlo ones as well, but I don't think they have thier golf pants as Joggers (although i have a fantastic seamstress a couple of doors down from my office that could make them for me)

 

I don't care for the Statement pants because of the drawstring...

Does anyone know of any good deals on these? Considering I've seen a total of two pairs on a golf course ever I figured they would be blowing them out by now, but the cheapest I can find is like $70.

check out uniqlo's ultra stretch joggers. I think they were $40. They fit great and the material is really good, they also have belt loops. The only downside is that they only come in black and navy. I wish there was more color options

i got a pair about a month ago and love them. they look like normal dress pants but with elastic at the bottom. i have an athletic build i guess but i dont see why anyone would feel weird wearing them.

 

i also got a blade collar polo. not quite as comfortable in that.

 

 

ps i also wear leggings under shorts (and pants) when i play due to a leg injury, so i may not be the most credible source on what looks good

I just picked up the uniqlo stretch joggers and they feel so comfortable. I got black, navy, and gray. Definitely great deal for $24.95 each. Now I need some high tops to match. Lol

33 with a 30 inch waist, often wear 'skinny' chinos that I will roll the cuffs when it warms up in the morning. Only problem I have with this look are the Joe Paterno comments I've received. I tend to only wear skinny pants playing golf. Joggers in the gym, no problem with them on the course.

My biggest issue with joggers...is they don't come in different inseams. It's like a "one size fits all" model. And let me tell you, as someone with an inseam shorter than 28"...these things just get super super bunched up around the ankle and look very sloppy. And being the style, you can't really get them hemmed to correct length.

 

Yes! This is my issue. I wish I could get them at 29' with a slimmer thigh. Sadly because if the design it can't be tailored.
