In the 16 days this thread has been alive, approximately 17692 bugs per second worldwide have been ruthlessly murdered. I kinda like the budddhist approach by the OP, the respect for life. Myself being the kind of boy who yanked the tails on cats, ripped the wings from flies and let like ten mosquitos bite my hand until i could splash them all with my other hand got into some kind of existential crisis at about ten. Tried to avoid killing insects and stuff, but I quickly understood that its futile. If you go down a path somewhere I discovered that you kill hundreds of ants and stuff by just walking around, so I skipped that buddhist whim. Hideki probably killed a thousand ants during the tournament. One bug more or less. But OK, I saw it too and kind of reacted. But not more than forgetting it like 5 seconds later.

 

But ok, when you ram a bird with your car and you have to go out and finish it off with a stone, that's not the nicest feeling in the world. Thereabout is my limits. Being the guy who put the living crayfish in the boiling water. My home country used to have draft for the army when I grew up. Some guys got appointed being "commandos(jägarsoldater)" and learned how to bite the head of hen to slaughter them. I did not do that.

My favorite thing about this thread is the almost perfect blend of earnestness, farce, and very often not being able to tell the difference between the two. Keep it up people!

To be fair, he did give that bug a chance to flee, but the cocky little thing just couldn't let it go.

 

As a side note, intelligently when thinking about it, I don't care about that bugs life, but when I saw it my reaction was that it looked a bit harsh, and kinda gross too.
