You wonder how much more he would have won had he stayed with Titleist rather than pissing away 1.5 years getting Nike clubs/ball right..when he finally does Nike folds equipment doors. Now back to getting used to another set of clubs and ball. So far not good but maybe when or if his "rib" injury heals he can get used to these clubs. Who knows with the stable of high profile Pros TM is paying maybe they will fold as well. Still amazes me they keep signing more top names while continuing to lose millions every year since 2012. So far only Sergio and Rahm don't have back problems. Even DJ joined them for awhile injuring himself running around in sock feet..

No pro has to get used to playing clubs. Its the most over rated theory in golf. Nicklaus used to play a different set each week depending on the course he was playing. Rory won 2 majors with Nike and 2 with Titleist.......2 more coming with TM......just my opinion, but when you hear pros talk about their clubs, they are playing them because they like them and are "used" to them already.......wait, or maybe its the 100 million dollars :)

Your theory about Nicklaus is only half right. He played his favorite driver and putter. Changing irons is easy for great players. Drivers and putters - not so much.

Rory loses about a year of competitiveness every time he switches manufacturers.

Actually Jack switched Drivers a fair amount over the years. He usually played MacGregor VIPs or MTs (some with black ceramic faces) in irons. The club he won 16 of the 18 majors with was a George Low Sportsman putter. A white painted bullseye (named white fang) and huge aluminum anser like putter Response were the others.

You can purchase two original George Low putters a Sportsman and a Bristol from Table Rock for $14,000.

Here is a link to Jacks drivers over the years

He should stick with the Scotty, the one he had in 2011

Why? The putter doesn't automatically aim and swing for him

Drivers are a specialty club so that is minimal....an iron change and putter change is much bigger but the putter is so personal, i can see that being the biggest challenge to find one that really gives you extreme confidence

the money they pay in sponsorship fees to Rory and everyone else are covered 50x over from multiple arms of the business which as we know was part of the Adidas brand.

Adidas also successfully sued Payless for $305M in 2008. adidas is the parent company to Reebok, Rockport as well so they had been funded very well.

I know its all marketing BS and Rory is one of my favorite golfers but I can't help but laugh at how he dogged on the Prov 1 (after the masters). Then said in the players press conference about how great his new TM ball is ( which TM loves to show us in commercials). It seems like right now he has no idea what his ball is doing. The last two weeks he has struggled, and it hasn't been just his putting. He was all over the place this week.

Looks like he is going to miss the cut again this week.

Sad.

I must have dreamed it. I thought Adidas had sold TaylorMade to KPS for less than $200 million cash and another 200+ million in "securities"... Also seemed like the deal was signed right after Rory signed up.. Sounds like Adidas must have gone "whew" rather than being stuck with the all gimp squad. Sergio might be the only one without back problems..Looks like they dumped all the LPGA pros as contracts expired..

How soon before Rory goes back to that hideous ProV1 ball. This TP5 is just perfect for missing cuts..
