Whats the biggest score difference between two rounds you've ever shot?

Recommended Posts

Not between rounds but between nines. 53-35. Worst part is i finished the front birdie-birdie :cheesy:. Not my finest start to say the least.

I shot 21 higher in a round yesterday than I did a day earlier...

Not the most frustrating round I've ever had, just very confused as to how it's even possible. I've been going through some massive swing changes lately and I could not commit to my new swing and my old swing was garbage yesterday. What's the biggest swing in score you guys have ever shot?

Mine was probably this past week. Sunday before last, shot a smooth running 91...fugly. Then this past Saturday, I shot 75. BTW...the putter from the Sunday before last round is in timeout.

I shot 35/48 on a par 70 course ten years ago and still fell the pain but...

At the Legends complex in Myrtle Beach a friend shot an inspired opening round 77 at Parkland followed by a 35-over 105 on Moorland the next day. He was a broken man and never sniffed 90 the rest of the week.

The Moorland

... designed by noted golf architect P. B. Dye and opened for play in 1990. Large expanses of natural growth, sand, water and waste areas combine with extraordinary undulations and bulkheads to present a course reminiscent of the PGA West Stadium Course.

The Golfer --

A c0cky 8 h/c with winter rust who thinks yesterday's extraordinary shots on a wide open course are available on demand

The Meltdown (a two-hole summary)

Hole 3 (par 5) the drive needs to clear water and a deep, narrow waste bunker then hold a narrow strip of fairway running perpendicular to the tee box; he takes three strokes getting out of the waste bunker; stubs a layup into a large trap fronting the green and takes three to hole out for a triple.

Hole 11 (par 5) his approach shot from 110 rolls off the side of a very elevated, deep narrow green with the pin in the back and narrowest part, coming to rest about 17 feet below the putting surface. The recovery shot required nerves of steel but my friend's were frazzled and needed four strokes to get on and three putts to hole out... for a 10.

Multiple 3- and 4-putts, stuck in a 20-foot high bunker called Big Bertha... put it this way, the course is so terrifying the cart girl could make as much selling replacements pants as she could with snacks and beers. Of course we're going back next year.

This is a rehash of a similar version of this post from many years ago, but the first time I played Strantz's Tobacco Road in North Carolina I was with a group that played 36. The two "outer nines" (first and last) were in the low 90s, and I under par with the two inner nines. Same day, same weather, same friends, same swing. Prior to that I was one of those knuckleheads that would just scratch my head and wonder how a PGA Tour player could shoot 66 one day and 76 the next. After that tour of Sanford's best, I completely understood.

68-91 on back to back days. And the 91 had an eagle in there. I've never wanted to break my clubs so badly.

For me I have a top three.

3. High School Golf I shot a 104 at a tournament on Wednesday and a 79 at a tournament on Thursday. Such a great 25 shot swing.

2. Junior PGA 101, 75. 26 shot swing on the same course.

1. 99, 72 on a weekend tournament a few years ago. 27 shot difference.

Let’s just say I’m consistently inconsistent haha.
