Well that does it, I think the USGA should enact a rule stating your grooves must be sanitizes and cleaned with an astringent prior to each shot. Then there needs to be a testing protocol put in place by a walking official. Rounds are expected to take 8 hours but it will be worth it.

As the OP so eloquently explained in another thread heightism is a form of bigotry. All greens will need to be rebuilt at Shinnecock to be perfectly level.

 

Or we can just implement a height minimum to compete. Would be much cheaper and would only affect people who never had a chance anyways (could you imagine a short person winning the US Open LOL). Disneyland does it, why not golf?
