  • TaylorMade always seems to be on the cutting edge of golf club design and development. To have the opportunity to be fit in house for some of their flagship products would be a once in a lifetime experience for a non-professional golfer. To be able to peak behind the curtain of what professional golfers experience with TaylorMade and then have to ability to share that information with our other GolfWRX members would be an honor.

Handicap-4.3

Current irons- TaylorMade M1 with KBS C-Taper X-Stiff 1/2" short and 2 degrees flat Golf Pride MCC4+ align midsize grips

Fitted?- I have been fitted before but not these specific irons

Why?- I am a huge fan of Taylormade golf and am an equipment "junkie". My game is pretty solid right now but I am pretty inconsistent with my iron play and feel like a proper fitting would help me get to the next level. I have been fit before but I wasn't too impressed with the fitter and his recommendations. I love learning about new equipment, technology, my swing and the game of golf in general so I think this would be an amazing experience.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf: I'm a 4th year student at UC San Diego and will tryout for the school team this fall. Having some of the best equipment available that also fits my game will give me the best chance to make the team in my last year of college. Plus forged irons and wedges feel great and the P700 series looks amazing.

Taylormade has always been the foundation/standard that everyone looks to for the next direction in golf equipment and to be given a behind the scenes tour is a life memory that not many will be able to say they have taken. Plus. Jason Day is my favorite golfer and to be given the same treat as well as fitting process he goes through to play his best on tour; is a definite added bonus.

Hello and thanks for a wonderful opportunity!

  • Current USGA handicap - Hmm...I dont really keep one as the kiddo is keeping me from the course. In my head, where most of my golf is played these days, I am around a 3. The last time I kept one consistently I was at a 7.
  • What are your current irons and shafts (be specific) I play Mizuno MP-54 irons in standard L,L,L with KBS Tour V S Shafts.
  • Were you fit for your current irons? If so, where / when? I was fit for my irons and shafts separately. My last fitting was in September 2016 where we found the KBS Tour V To be the best performing shaft for me. Instead of changing my very good condition irons out for new ones, (I was fit into MP-25s), i just swapped out the shafts. Fitting occurred at Club Champion.
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf - The buzz in the industry created by Taylor Made right now is second to none. With a stable of top players moving over, it can not all be about the money. The equipment has to be better than anything else out there and I would like to join the revolution.

Mizuno 850 Forged - C-Taper Lite Stiff. Standard length and 2 degrees flat.

Yes, Mizuno Demo Day

Hey GolfWRX, thanks for this opportunity. Look, I've got a garage full of clubs that don't work. I'm optimistic the fine folks at TM might have the answer. I need irons that go straight, but also sticks I can draw or fade. I need irons that can be flighted down but also can be hit high. Is that too much to ask? Let the TM guys work their magic on me! I won't be disappointed!

What are your current irons and shafts (be specific)?

Callaway Apex Forged (2014) 4-AW, True Temper XP95 S300 stiff shafts, standard length and lie

Were you fit for your current irons? If so, where / when?

No, even worst I fit myself on a business trip to Houston at Golf Smith wearing dress shoes, dress pants and a button down (I did remove my sports coat and tie at least).

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf.

I think anytime you have the opportunity to be fit by a manufacturer that is the most ideal case; the fitter is going to know exactly how the club was designed and what the ideal launch for that club would be. The big box stores and demo days in my area generally do not have many shaft options, I don't see this being the case at TaylorMade. I have friends that have been fit at places like Club Champion and played much better immediately simply having equipment fit for their swing. Having a fitting done in California weather would be such a treat due to the hot and humid conditions I am used to experiencing. I could also explain to my wife exactly why I ordered a pair of white golf pants that came in yesterday, "when do you plan on wearing those?" was the question I was asked and I really had no good answer. Pants season for golf is November through February in Mississippi.

The other reason I would like to be fit is I started playing golf in the summer of 2013 at the age of 40. I was loaned a set of Callaway Diablo forged for about a year. The guy who loaned them to me ask for them back a year later for his son (I felt bad about this but he told me he would never need them and use them until I got fit). He asked for them back the day I was flying to Houston on business and I was playing in a tournament the next weekend so I had to get a set of irons. The Apex were the closest thing to what I was playing so I pulled the trigger on them. I have been fit for a driver several times and I know what it can do not only with distance but with spin rate, dispersion and launch angle.

This sounds like a fantastic opportunity good luck to all!

  • Were you fit for your current irons? If so, where / when? Was fit in January 2017 at PGA Superstore in Sandy, UT
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf:

I've been very interested in Taylormade Forged Irons since I purchased my first driver (an R9 Supertri), and loved the feel of the brand. I additionally purchased a Spider Ghost SI which I played for a couple of seasons. I'm incredibly interested in trying out the 700 series forged irons from the company, as I feel that I could benefit from a more forgiving iron, but love the feel of striping a forged blade.

Thank you for the opportunity to be pert of this group.

I have also just been fit for a Taylor Made driver and it has been so good off the tee I am curious about other TM clubs. I've tried some newer TM irons and definitely picked up distance (around 25 yds with the M2, 20ish with M1, etc.), but am more concerned about holding greens and filling my gaps well between woods and wedges

I have always thought TaylorMade got a bad wrap as a "Driver" first company but as someone who owned Burner 2.0 irons for years they were excellent for me.
