Cru Golf dispute question

I'll start this topic off by saying this. I knew better. I had read all the previous topics about Cru and their bad customer service and taking many many months at times to complete seemingly simple orders but I ignored the facts anyway. I really liked the look of their 3-piece design and liked how they looked on other WRX member's bags here so I went ahead and ordered two stock headcovers from their site about a month ago. A few business days later, Adam from Cru emailed me and said that this was the most popular style and they ran out of stock but they would be shipping mine out at the end of the next week. That was supposed to be two weeks ago. I emailed Adam a week ago asking for an update on my order and have yet to hear a response. My experience seems to parallel what others have when dealing with these guys.

 

Now my question is this: What does filing a dispute with PayPal do? Would it cancel my order? Or does it put pressure on Cru to kick it into gear? I'm certainly not looking to get refunded by PayPal and still have my order fulfilled but at some point I would like to receive the products I paid for within a reasonable amount of time. Like I said before, I knew better.

I'll preface this by saying I have a set of cru head covers and love them. I ordered another set a few months back and paid through PayPal and a month went by and no word from them on order confirmation, shipping, etc (had no problem accepting my money though). I sent them multiple emails just asking for a status update on if they revived my order and a ball park idea of if it would ship. No response, I even tried sending them a message through instagram as whoever manages their account seemed pretty active in posting. I finally had to open a case with PayPal and they never even responded to PayPal so I got my money back. I love there product, but I will never spend another cent with them again.

Has Paypal actually charged your credit card (or taken money from your bank account)? They're not supposed to do so until the order is in the process of shipping. So, if this has happened, Cru is in violation of their agreement with Paypal. If they haven't charged your card yet, they haven't done anything wrong, as far as Paypal is concerned. Backorders are part of mail order businesses. Since you don't want to cancel your order, there is really nothing that Paypal could do to help you in this situation

No way I'd let a company treat me like that and think they have a chance at keeping my business. No way no how. I work way too hard for my money to tolerate that.

 

With so many other options out there there is no need to accept nothing but excellent customer service. Look up Eliott Golf Bags (website and facebook).

 

Edit: I have a set of Cru headcovers and really like them, but after the repeated posts about their terrible customer service (and terrible is an understatement) there is zero chance they ever get my business again.

THIS is always a consideration, and there is another thread with similar issues, where I basically said the same things.

 

Without knowing everything going on from BOTH sides, it is hard to determine the exact problem.

 

Personally, if someone has a problem with me or something that I have represented, if they don't bring it to me personally, that in itself is a problem.

 

Good luck getting a resolve from all of this!

I had a similar experience with a small business that made custom holsters and the guy basically kept lying to me and the ship date kept moving until I filed a dispute with PayPal. I ended up

getting a refund and then I bashed him on every social media site I could find.

 

I get that operating a small business is hard especially when you do specialty items but to blatantly lie and ignore a customer is unacceptable and anyone that doesn't share a crappy

experience is not doing the community justice.

 

I'm glad I read this because I'll never spend a dime with this company.

Yeah - no. I've ordered from them twice. Once no problem. Over the summer on order 2 they charged my Amex through PayPal and never heard a word from them. After a month I sent an email asking if they had any update, another 2 weeks goes by and nothing. So yes, I guess I am difficult to please when I spend over $300 on headcovers, get charged, and after 6 weeks I hear nothing. The nerve I must have.

You base this off of one transaction with the company? Maybe you are just a lucky customer. Based on his post, it sounds like the OP came here as a last resort, not a first resort. Why do you feel compelled to defend this company based on one good transaction?

Try sunfishsales.com for custom covers.

 

Concur, I've had great experiences with Sunfish and Jan Craig (for knit, not sure if they make leather, or if that's what you're looking for), though if expediency is important I'd lean towards Sunfish. Jan Craig was crystal clear on their lead time- it wasn't fast. Luckily, I ordered over the winter and had a couple months to wait.

I have a set of Cru three piece covers and love the quality but sadly I waited forever for mine as well. It's a shame because the product is superior...BB

Wow, Cru is still having issues? I ordered a 3 headcover set (standard, not custom back in 2013). I remember it did take a few months to arrive. No word or anything from them. The quality is great as I still have the headcovers and use them from time to time, but I hate waiting that long for anything I pay for.

I knew I would rustle a few jimmies. I was being sarcastic, maybe there should be an emoji for that, lol. There is no excuse for the lack of communication. When I ordered I spoke/emailed with a lady and it was quick and easy. But to not hear anything from them in multiple weeks on an order that has a few zeroes in the price, is irresponsible. It's really strange that a reputable company can/would let some orders slip through the crack and tarnish their name for future orders. Here are the peoiple I interacted with:

This is troublesome, I was going to order some custom ones from them. is there anyone else that does custom leather headcovers?

 

I’ve never seen a better product than the one from Robert Mark Golf. Highly recommended.

 

Robert Mark makes really good stuff. My only complaint about him is the communication. He was very active in responding to emails on a custom design then as soon as he received payment he went silent on me and wouldn’t respond at all to a couple questions I had. I did get my product on time.

I'm going to revive a bit of a dead thread, but I ordered on December 20th. They said 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. Nothing had come by the week of February 20th so I emailed. They responded quickly and said it would be done by the end of that week. Since then, no product and no communication. Sent an email last Friday asking for a status. On Monday I sent another message telling them I want a refund if it won't ship this week. We'll see what happens.
