Ping G400 LST Fade Biased?

Recommended Posts

Don't notice it but I've played g30 and G LS for the last few seasons so maybe I'm just used to it.

The discussion on the hotmelt is not worth getting worked up over, it's not enough weight to change anything IMO. Placebo effect at best knowing you ordered it a certain way.

I would disagree as in my fitting I hit both heads (hot melt in neutral and in the heel) and the difference while subtle is noticeable. Its really no difference that adding the weight to the heel area in the Ping SFT, M4 or Rogue Draw. And you are right to a degree that NO heel weighted head is going to correct some swing deficiencies. However in my case it did help just a bit. I could have played the LST without it but as I said there was a subtle difference.

Plus i thought the info on the hot melt was interesting. Even though some didn't believe the info.

As I said I would post the build ticket to show that the heel weighting is available so here it is.

Just left the range for the first time with the G400 LST amd my opinion is that is is NOT fade biased. I thought the G30 LST and 16 M2 we’re fade biased. The G400 LST is not and it is really good......but TM was doing fittings there and the M4 was really good for me after being fit.

How much does lofting up change the fade bias? I'm thinking I get the 8.5 I'll want to adjust it up a full degree anyway.

Going to the small + closes face and makes lie more upright so that’s probably the most draw biased setting. The big + will close the face more but isn’t as upright. I didn’t like the way it looked at address in the big plus so I settled on the small plus and haven’t touched it since. Can hit low-mid bullets or high flat shots just by messing with tee height.

Interesting - I would like to try a toe weighted version. I cannot see the build ticket you posted, however. Maybe PM it to me?

I would agree with others and say it is not fade bias. I have it set to the -1* setting on an 8.5 but struggled to hit a fade.

Although, I had the project X Hzrdus yellow and the weight in the back of the head was 13 grams which I think may have contributed. Just ordered a 7 gram weight since I switched shafts and will see if it changes swing weight should go from D8 to D5.

I haven't found it to be fade bias, but I play a shot that falls slightly right. The G400 LST has actually made that shot way more controllable and I actually know how many yards to the right it'll fall. I had a Rogue SZ and the dispersion was just too varied. One drive would be a nice little fade, but then a pretty big slice would jump in there. The LST is so reliable and really does just want to go straight.

I've found mine to not be fade biased either. Actually very easy to hit. Draw with. Though I've been struggling with hooks as of late. Time to get in for some lessons it seems.

Reps are the worst when it comes to info besides just retail product info. And the shop I use is the largest in Mi i believe and their fitting facility is top notch. The Trackman facility is not just using OEM Fitting carts. The have multiples of every OEM head available plus hundreds of shaft options. The heads I hit were clearly marked "heel" in Pings font. The info I provided was directly from the fitter who is a certified Master Trackman Fitter.

I saw the order being placed with the instructions clearly typed "Setting neutral, 8 grams hotmelt to heel, digital loft".

Heres a link to the facility https://www.carlsgol...com/launch-pad.

So since your inferring that i'm lying or misinformed I'll ask; why would the heads that came DIRECTLY from Ping be marked, in Pings font, as heel weighted? Why would the fitter make that claim? Why would the order be accepted by Ping if not true? So everyone here is either lying to deceive or totally misinformed? Perhaps your "Top Fitter" isn't the Ping savant you claim?

And the ONLY reason i'm responding like this is I don't appreciate being called a liar.

Have a good day.

ps; when I receive the club from Pings WRX dept I'll make sure I post a copy of the build sheet.

I've been for a fitting here too and can confirm they have heel and toe biased hotmelt heads.

There is no typical hotmelt plug either - the fitter told me they go in through the rear weight port hole with a flexible tube. And you could order direct from Ping pre-hotmelted clubs.

I got a G400 LST, and I do find it more fade biased
