I'm still in the DVR bubble on the GC morning coverage trying to catch up to go live. Nice to see Kelly Kraft playing well. I caddied in his group at the Farmers Pro-Am (he didn't make the cut) and him and his caddie, "Boston," were cool guys and talkative. I hadn't really known about him and didn't realize he placed 2nd at Pebble in 2017. Very inconsistent since then but a nice guy and I hope he plays well today.

Also, in regards to killing foul (haven't watched it yet), I've killed a coot once and it was so embarrassing. Skulled my approach shot on 18 right into a flock of grazing coots right in front of a big crowd of diners at the clubhouse patio resulting in very loud jeering/boos. And then I had to put it out of its misery and give it a couple wacks with my iron to its head, splashing brain and blood all over my shoes/socks/leg. I can still hear the "coot killer" and "nice birdie" jeers in jest I got walking to the parking lot. Sorry bird. I suck at times.

Good god man! Bird brain and blood all over you?! And you had to do this in front of a bunch of people? That's rough dude!

Why do you never see anyone in the houses around the course ?

You would think it would be a great week to have parties, BBQs etc but it looks like a ghost town!

Is there a reason for this ?

Their average age is 80 and they're napping or already ate dinner and went to bed?

Don't knock us. Tonight is meatloaf night at Denny's and 2 for 1 brandy Manhattan's.

I do not know what amuses me more in this thread.

The 10 caps criticizing and offering players advice as we go along, or the 13 caps comparing their best ball striking days at the local muni to TW's round.

/I am easily amused however, so I have that going for me, which is nice.

Quite full of yourself, eh?

Que? How do you figure?

It would be absolutely no less absurd if I publicly compared anything I do, to anything any these guys do even if much of the time I appear to know what I am doing. There are no likenesses to be drawn.

Back on topic.....

Which leads to a question. Why then would you go on a thread where golfers of all levels are going to be commenting, as fans do, on what they are watching? They can't comment because they aren't as good as the pro they're watching? If so there would be very little discussion among sports fans, would there? Sorry if I took it wrong, but that "luckily I'm easy amused " remark rubbed me the wrong way when I read it.

Great to see Tiger in the mix, smiling and having fun. He looks about 10 years younger when he's in this mindset.

Younger still now that he rid himself of the face fuzz. He literally looks 10 years younger..

TW quality of game is shocking relative to last week and beyond where I thought he would be.

347 avg off the tee. 66% fw, 76% gir. Getting a ton of birdie looks, not converting enough but on the edge/just off pace on most misses.

If he plays like this more often and combines anything resembling a hot putter, hes going to win on tour again.

Remarkable considering his golf obituary was being written constantly not too long ago.

Those who were SURE that TW had the chip yips, putting yips, couldnt keep up with the young guns off the tee, sure are quiet ; )

I've never been a fan of TW, but I think he is playing very well. He hasn't played tournament golf in a long time, and he is also playing some very tough venues.

I lived in Miami for a bit, and this tournament really never got the level of local engagement and excitement you'd expect. I was always surprised by the lack of "buzz" around this one, though that was when the WGC was still at Doral and brought in a much better field than this event.

I wonder if the HOA is more restrictive and has something to say about big gatherings -- that is certainly a possibility in that area.

Also -- that PGA National development is huge. I want to say it's 30 or 40 neighborhoods, and it's not as "upscale" as you'd think.
