I’m glad someone mentioned this. As I recall Peanut was always referred to as Mi Hyoooon Kim, same spelling of Hyun, and there was never anyone upset about it. Was everybody wrong back then?

Mi Hyooon is wrong in the same way that Sung Hyooon is wrong. "uh" is the correct vowel.

To be fair the romanization of Korean stuff is not universal. She probably should've spelled it "Sung Hyeon". Because it rhymes exactly with the "Yeon" in So Yeon, or Na Yeon, only difference is the "h" sound in front.

Well she doesn't generate a lot of clubhead speed so that might have something to do with it. I hadn't seen her for a while. She looks lime she's dropped about 15lbs.

A few more meetings and observations from today.

Are the crowds or ambient noise always so loud? There was a guy behind us that just kept jingling the change in his pocket and another guy who kept coughing.

The 5 yr old only wanted autographs and no one was at the signing booth so we took up our spot in the shade (actually a brilliant spot, just inside of where the players get dropped off and in the path from the putting green to the range). He completely filled his hat and here are a few notables.

- MJ Hur - was nice as could be.

- Ryann O’Toole - she was awesome. Stopped and talked to our son, asked about him golfing and his hat. Every time she saw him she smiled and waved.

Some of the bigger names were a bit disappointing.

We found a spot off the back of the 18th to watch some groups come in and my son loved it because they would give him 5 on the way to the scoring tent. The 2nd group to come by was Ariya and Caroline Masson. They immediately saw him clapping and with his hand out for a high 5 and walked up and gave him 5 and saw his reaction so the both reached into their pockets and gave him the ball from their rounds and asked him for another 5 and acted like he hurt their hands. He ate it up and the crowd around us loved. Couldn’t say enough about those 2.

Really disappointed, while standing in the same spot Paula walked right by him while watching In Gee stop and do the same as above, she gave him 5 and her ball and a huge smile and he loved it.

Same with SNAP and Wiezy. MW’s caddy came over and gave him a ball but MW walked by and barely cracked a smile. He even said Aloha Michelle when she walked by.

He got Morgan’s autograph at the tent and she seemed almost put out by him while engaging most of the girls, pretty disappointing.

Once again, Ariya, Caroline and In Gee were awesome.

Heh Legitimate, just one short week ago you were "in panic mode" and look now, you must be beaming! Some first class Terminating going on.

Things can go so up and down. I try to never lose faith...

Speaking of which, WHEW! So Yeon kept it on pins and needles to the very last hole. So happy about that last birdie. Disappointing from hopes at the start to just be making the cut. But such a big difference to make it or not. Just so relieved, hope she's feeling good from that.

Minjee saved herself from a bad start too. And MJ made it, so happy to see her staying on the upward trajectory.

Mallrat, your reports are just awesome. Love the stories and to hear how the different players are, what kind of people they are to others. That sort of thing is a huge part of why I like a lot of the players I do. Really glad to hear about MJ and In Gee, and neat to hear about Ariya and Masson ... had no idea, makes me like them more.

Your boy is getting quite the early pedigree experience!

What a shocker, NOT! Unless there are cameras on those three they can be b——es.

One more name I need to mention was Meghan Kang. She was super nice to our son also.

It seemed that many of the Asian players were more than happy to sign but the language barrier (and their entourages) kind of kept the conversation to a minimum, where the established American players understand they need to do it but don’t really want to interact and the yournger American players really seemed to get it though.

One who seemed put out by it was Nelly which was weird considering her sister was so cool.

Also was interesting to see Danielle Kang almost miss her tee time because she wanted to watch Wie finish. She was standing behind 18 and then took off on a full sprint to the 1st tee.

Last thing, not sure who but you can find the pic on Instagram but saw about 10 of the Korean ladies at PF Chang’s on Tuesday night.

Don't forget Wunderkind #2, Lucy Li. She was the talk of the town last year when she became the youngest female player to make the cut at a women's major.

I wonder when her parents are going to stop dressing the 15 year old like a 5 year old. So much talent but dressed like a cartoon character. It’s like mom and dad are trying to hang onto the child prodigy thing instead of letting her grow up.

Laura Davies contends last week, posts a solid 81 today. Yep, got it. Maybe a little too much time in the casino last night?

Injury, Achilles I think they said, but rebounded with a 72 Friday.

- Juli Inkster - thought she would have been very approachable but seemed put off by it.

- Jessica Korda - This one was a shock as I always imagined her to be kinda snobby, had a huge smile while talking to my son, asked him about his Cars shirt and golf and actually acted like she enjoyed being there

- ShenShen - tough with the language barrier

- Not surprised about Juli

- I don't know where you might think that Jessica would be snobby.....I don't think anyone on this site would think she's snobby....maybe you confused her with Creamer.

- Shanshan speaks and understands English very well. Based on what you see of Shanshan on TV.....you'd think she'd be so friendly out side the ropes....but she's kind of aloof to the fans....not rude...just not the cheery persona she projects on TV.

Why I'm a not shocked that Creamer and Wie weren't engaging with your son....both put on a great act when the cameras are around.

In Gee is awesome....one the nicest pros on tour.

Other pros your son will really like to get an autograph, ball or even a glove after they play include: Lexi, Ha Na Jang, Chella Choi, Azahara Munoz, Hee Young Park, Sandra Gal, Gaby Lopez & So Yeon Ryu.
