Saw her Ping visor and decided to look her up on the website.

 

What a surprise - she's playing a Ping G Le driver @ 11*. The Le specs are 11.5*, so she must have a digitally measured head at around 10*, because she plays it in the +1 position.

 

I'm thinking that this driver is pretty draw biased after all is said and done.

 

Pretty cool. If you want to play a driver at a long length, like 46" or more, this could be a good head to start with since it weighs less than the G400 heads at 193 grams versus 206 for the G400.

 

I could see trying one at 46" or 46-1/2".

 

I hope she wins and WRX does her WITB.

 

By the way, she ranks 85th out of 149 players ranked at 252 yards. (Boy would I like to get back to 250 yards!)

I don't know any other LPGA Tour players playing a driver head marketed to ladies. Thought that might be interesting.

I'm 65, carry the ball 215. I am going to order one with a 46" shaft and see if I can get a couple of yards back.

 

Plus, the blue driver head looks pretty good to my eye.

Shaft is a Graphite Design AD-TP in an R flex I think. A little over 45" and C9 swingweight. Odd combination.

Well, 215 carry gets me to 225 total. Maybe more.

 

I endorse a 10% roll back, and will happily play with the consequences.

 

Hey, I am already accustomed that that distance reduction when I play my hickories.

 

I happen to think that it would be good for the game.

 

225, less 20; I can live with 205. I can also move up to the ladies tees, with no sweat at my age, if I want to.

 

Heck, if I were still playing the persimmon and steel drivers that I played in the late 70's and 80's, 200 would be about right for my age. Please tell me, again, why an old guy should be hitting it longer than when he was in college? Doesn't happen in any other sport.

 

So long as we are all playing the same specs, it's golf. And golf courses don't have to go over 8,000 for elite players. I can deal with 200, 205 off the tee.

Right, which was Tom Watson's former wife's driver. Freddy saw it in Tom's garage while visiting, and thought it looked good. It might have been square in shape.

With some brands, the only way for slow swingers who need more loft to get it is to look at the ladies heads. Cobra and Mizuno come to mind. (Says the owner of a 12.5 degree F7 ladies head.)
