Anyone played Redwood yet this year?

Gonna try it on Friday.

I had a singles match with a guy last night who played it yesterday(yup, 36 holes on a Monday...) and said it was in great condition. Pristine was his comment. Elbow Springs is in so so shape, they have had a couple tournaments roll through and the bunkers are being refilled but haven't been packed/built up.

I'm playing Silver Springs Thursday, so I'm hoping for some good weather as it will be my first time out there.

Played Inglewood last night. Started off raining and very windy but calmed down by the 4th hole. The weather kept people away so we ended up getting around in 3.5 hrs (foursome walking).

I didn't have my best with me and the putter was awful, but made a couple birdies. All in all, it's in OK shape, I was pretty disappointed with the greens to be honest as I remember them being much better. They were very similar to Elbow Springs...usually better than they are this year.

Buuuut to get 18 in after starting at 6:00, I'm not complaining! I love the long golf days in June.

Sirocco yesterday. Course is in really nice shape. Fairways are very lush, tees were mowed nicely. Bunkers were a little on the firm side, but are very playable. The greens are a bit on the slow side, but have recovered from punching and will pick up speed through June as usual. People really need to clean their spikes. Poa is starting to appear on the greens and super noticeable on the putting green.

Speargrass tomorrow for the first time this year.

Speargrass is awesome. Greens are perfect. Very smooth and decently fast.

Pace was a little slow. Teed off at noon and weren't finished until 4:40. Waited a lot on the back nine.

Played there on Friday as well, 38 on the front and 48 on the back...yikes...

It's in great shape though and only going to get better.

Played Canyon last night, walked which was nice cause I rarely do that anymore, course was in pretty good shape, greens were a tad sandy a little thin, but firm fast and rolled smooth, rest was quite mint.

Front nine was a mess but made 3 birds and a double to go -1 one on the back

River's Edge is in decent shape right now. Greens have recovered fully and the course is in really nice shape. Tees could use some mowing, will never understand why they get neglected.

Finally played Inglewood tonight. Some boggy bits here and there, several greens had been plugged a week or so ago, but generally things were prime, and the greens were running fast with some complicated pin placements. Fairways are narrower than my game can easily accommodate right now but that will improve with time.

Wildlife seen on this round: a deer walked a fairway with us and took what looked like a very satisfying pee on the fringe of the green. Saw a flock of 40 odd American pelicans in the river and flying overhead. A bald eagle made an appearance. And on the final hole we had to hit into a flock of about 30 Canada geese with lots of ugly duckling young. Very odd. Goose poop loves golf cleats too ugh.

Never played a course inhabited by Canada Geese before? Kinda fun actually. They like to hiss and be all tough but really you keep your distance and you are fine. Goose poop is a b**** tho yea.

Never Miskanaw, but Ft Mac GC is really great. (bugs can be a bit aggressive). Tree lined and a tough test from the back tees, they are a host stop for the Canadian tour (or was). Old school course, tree lined and small greens.

Played in the Weller Classic at the Wolf Creek "Old Course" in Ponoka, on Sunday, this was their 30 anniversary year, I understand this is their longest running tourney. It was warm & windy, greens were hard, fast and tough, had 30 participants, great bunch of guys, won $70. for KP/Skins, lots of fun. Pro-shop staff were great, enjoyed their upstairs patio bar/dinner. Only killed 1 mosquito all day.

If you haven't played Wolf Creek, I recommend you give the "Old Course" a go. ..... link.... http://www.wolfcreekgolf.com/the-courses

Hey there, played last Sat. morning, the course is in great shape. Experienced a first at D'Arcy an entire round with no wind.

Played Jagare on the weekend which was a great time, pretty wet/soft in some spots after the rain on Saturday but was in unreal shape, greens were running very true. Felt bad taking a 9 inch fillet from every shot on the fairway but apparently that's what my swing is doing at the moment...

Has anyone played Coloniale this year and can comment on conditions? I would assume it's very green and lush with all the rain we've had but figured couldn't hurt to ask anyway :)

Cheers and happy golfing!

Played coloniale a fair amount this year, in good condition now, greens were pretty rough until about a month ago but for the most part are really good now. its been pretty wet most of the year, haven't played it since we got the last big bit of rain but can assume going to be some really soggy spots.

Lynx Ridge yesterday. Course is in good shape, best bunkers in the city BUT, they just punched their greens last Tuesday.

Would have been nice of them to let you know when calling the pro shop to book, but I guess taking money is better than preserving their reputation. At the very least give a break on the green fee.

I'd avoid it until labour day.

Co-worker invited me out to Priddis on the 14th. Really looking forward to that as I've never played there before.

Welp, thunderstorms in Calgary forced a postponement of the Priddis round.

Played my local track at Pine Hills here in Rocky instead (weather was gorgeous up here) and shot a personal best 40 on the back 9. Would have been 39 but the damn birdie putt on 18 stopped on the lip and refused to drop.

Full of confidence after that round I was looking forward to Sundre yesterday. It kicked my a**.

Driver was wayward, and trusty 4 wood wasn't going as long as normal so was left with mostly 170-180 shots into the green, which is iffy at the best of times for me.

Course in great shape though, as is Pine HIlls (just don't miss the fairway at Pine Hills this year - they let the rough grow out to US Open type height in the trees this year so it's super punishing)
