Where are all the Spieth haters at?

Not a Spieth hater but posting after 18 holes may have been a bit premature with his performance of late.

people do the same thing with tiger. His fans get defensive after some abuse for bad round(s) or tourney(s) rinse repeat. Nothing out of the ordinary really. Spieth is showing flashes like he did last year and 1 or 2 bad swings each round are doing him in right now.

Blocked iron on 18 for Phil....Clearly showing his US Open form early in the season

That's called a pull for a lefty. A block would be in the water. And I think that thing just flew farther than he expected, it was a nice looking swing.

Where'd he put it? Over past the bunker behind the tree? As a fellow lefty I know that shot.

Paul Casey is solid but I’m 100% rooting for Phil. It would have been nice to have some other big names up there but that was not to be. I don’t know what to think of Jordan Spieth. He hit some really bad shots today but also hit some really solid ones. I say arrow pointing up for the future. DJ showed me something by not laying down on the last few holes to make the cut. Would like to see DJ and Cameron Champ paired together tomorrow. Go Phil!!

Poor round by Jordan, but again progress with 2 good rounds in a row prior to that. Anybody see his tee shot on 13 and just how he hit it so short and crooked?

I'll be rooting for Phil as well come tomorrow. Paul Casey will be feeling a lot of pressure, but he did get a win recently which should settle some nerves.

Hope Phil can win tomorrow.

I would say he's inline for another 2nd (2016 and last year), but maybe Casey will come back (wish him no back luck though) or Phil can pull off a round like in 2012.

Phil played well last year in CA/Mexico and then fell off. Will be interested to see if he can keep it up through the year. He's stayed relevant longer than I would have thought. Just wish he could have turned in some more victories vs. the 1 he's posted in the last 5 years.

Sorry, Larry. Time to hang up the spikes at Pebble.

if a boring wash up Bill Murray can last 67 years and a freaking Huey Lewis for 50 ... Cable guy is here to stay until 2067

Too bad CBS has to show these clowns, leaderboard is actually decent

It's a shame he ("Larry") even gets an invitation.

His whole persona is made up. His name is Dan, grew up in Iowa, went to private school, and makes millions of dollars selling out to people who have nothing in common with him. His jokes about "retards" and describing gays and Muslims are just lazy and not clever at all. Playing to the lowest common denominator, as Cross points out.

At least Bill and Huey had some quality work that wasn't based on mocking people different from them.

So he is an even fatter Trump?

This tournament is painful to watch until Sunday. You don’t even see the leaders half the time and instead we have to watch C lost celebrities who have done literally nothing for over a decade. Larry the cable guy? Darius Rucker? Alfonso Ribero? At least watching Romo was kind of cool until he had to leave. I guess the celebrity pool of golfers in single digit handicap is slim pickings.

But goofy head case Jordy can fix it and shot 61 just like that tomorrow ... dude is uncanny with that

Romo getting birdie on 400 yd par 5s is thrilling ... to at least Jim Nantz

Darius Rucker lol a voice made for silent movies ... Jesus he sucks

ABPC ... anyone but Paul Casey

Peter Kostis would have small wood for a month if that guy were to win

Seems the past couple years they've toned down the celeb-fest a small bit. Not sure when they stopped, but they used to analyze swings/interview at 17 for most of the broadcast.

For one day of the golf year, I don't hate it. Watching the ams scuzz a few out there on gives me abit of hope in the dead of this Canadian winter. Plus I can see where not to hit them when I eventually cross the course off the bucket list.

Pulling for Phil tomorrow. I like Casey alot, but Phil always has that entertainment factor going

He's stayed relevant though since 2013 with half a dozen 2nd place finishes including his epic Duel with Henrik. He did look really good last year and seemed to flame out a bit after finally notching that win in Mexico. Even with his 5 majors it still seems like he has underachieved which is a testament to his talent. Only Tiger and Jack have had more top 3 finishes in the majors. Yes that is being a little cherry-pickey. Only Tiger, Jack, Arnie, and Bobby have had more top 2s.
