Having checked on the USGA Club Database, it is defo only the MP-20, MP-20 HMB & MP-20 MMC in this iron release...........for right-handers anyway.

 

 

According to the Maltby Playability Factor (MPF) the MP-18 are more playable & forgiving than the MP-18 SC.

It's called the MP-20 and the complete set of irons are Grain Flow Forged from 1025E Pure Select Mild Carbon Steel.

 

 

 

Not all Forged MB's are of the same quality, Mizuno do not 'weld' theirs.

I think brands should offer their stuff in both hands, it’s really quite simple. Callaway Ping Taylormade and Titleist figured it out, it’s not rocket science.

If there is no SC type model it will be an important industry milestone, kind of like Ford getting rid of passenger cars and the extinction of the sedan.

 

I guess it’s been coming for a while now, no one really makes an old school cb. The more successful cb’s recently have either been bigger blade length and stronger loft such as J15 or some type of multi material such as AP2.

 

Like I said earlier, I like multi material so i hope a slimmed down mmc slides down to fill the sc slot.

I'm thinking the MMC will fit between the HMB and MB and will play smaller more like MP15 competing directly with AP2. I know the JPX tour fills that spot well, but just I doubt there would be more than a 50% overlap with the JPX line.

Interested to see the profile / specs of the HMB and if you could blend it straight with the MB starting at the 5 or 6 iron. Also, I can't explain the excitement being able to say that as a lefty.

Wouldn't the HMB basically be the perfect combo set already? I can't wait to see this set in person! But I have a feeling that will be in the form of a preorder that shows up on my doorstep ready to hit?
