I'd hit any shaft before switching from the Yellow, which is counter balanced.

I love the green, but could not get along with the yellow to save my life. Why not stick with the yellow if it is working for you.

I have the TX and have tried the standard green in 6.5. They are pretty different. The 6.5 is pretty playable in my opinion.

Order the SIM with the HXDUS Yellow, good head to head test vs. Callaway. There will be plenty of HZDUS green TM shafts to be had soon after the clubs are released.

My swing speed is a little more pedestrian compered to Quigs DU. I'm very intrigued by the Ventus Black, and have this on a short list of shafts I would like to throw at the Hulk. Would love to hear anyone's comparison between the two.

I was fit for Smoke Black (60g 6.5) and then switched to the Green. The green is longer, more accurate, and felt much better to me. *Results may vary

I went from the Hulk 60 TX to the Ventus Black 6X. The Hulk is a wonderful shaft, but, the tightness of the Ventus black is, frankly, unbelievable. I could spray the Hulk when I was playing poorly.

As a guy who was a complete and total sucker for every new low/low or midlow/low shaft that was released, I have become completely indifferent to new stuff.

The Ventus could be my lightsaber. It's just unreal.

Interesting. What felt better to you? I've been in the 60 6.5 all year and something was just... off? It's certainly me to an extent but some days I felt like I Was making the same swing and day 1 I'd be playing draws, another day it was fade and then sometimes I'd be hitting both on the same day. I had no idea if I was hitting it left to right or right to left despite the same feels. It also launched pretty low but I'm in a SZ head.

I just put in an Accra Tour ZXtreme which I was actually fit into at TXG in late 2018 (just didn't bite on the $350 price, I just got a new one for $115 this week). It seems to launch the ball a lot higher, but... I've only got one session with it, tomorrow will be my first round with it. Overall, it feels much more active and I pretty much can only play a draw with it (which I'm ok with).

Like the guy above I am contemplating about moving to Ventus if I don't end up staying in the 465. A lotttt of guys on Tour seem to be in it and I hear the black is pretty stout without feeling harsh. I could probably use the blue too & TBH, I've normally found "blueboard" profiles to be a little more user friendly later on in the round, esp. in the summer.

With the Smoke Black I hit a low hook on misses that felt pretty dead. For me the Green feels pretty lively and never harsh or too stout . I find that the Green is much more stable and is one of the few sub 70 gram shafts I feel confident throwing everything at it. I never had that confidence with the Smoke Black.

Makes sense actually.... the Smoke Black is probably one of the lightest X flexes out there. When I got fit into the Accra, I was also hitting other shafts in the 70g range for driver, so I would assume for us, with that 68-72g sweet spot... the 61g (plus tolerances, so possibly even sub 60g!) is affected timing a bit.

It's also a little CB'ed I think because at 61g it was only swing weighting ~D1 where the same head and shaft was D6 with no weight with my Accra. Accra is playing about 1/8'' longer and even has a slightly heavier grip, too. So my guess is that having that swing weight and shaft weight being a touch low is giving me the issues, could have been yours, too. You in the 60g or 70g? What's your usual swing speed?

I am 112-115 mph and am using the 60g Hulk. I was using 70g shafts for the last few yeas and was handed 60 gram shaft during a fitting and really liked the results. Even dropped from 80g's in the FW to 70 and no complaints, so far.

Interesting. I see the Hulk is a little bit heavier but pretty much within tolerances of the Smoke. I played my Accra yesterday for the first time and while I was not super accurate with it, it was highly predictable. Ever shot was a pretty tight little draw, I just didn't start the ball out far enough so I was missing fairways to the right (I'm LH).

I'm actually getting a lesson on Saturday so I'll see what they think about me being in something a touch heavier swing weight with lower balance point based on my tendencies. Logically, I should do better with lighter shafts and SW because I tend to get a bit stuck and can have a very in to out path.

  • 2 weeks later...

I tried the 70g Hulk in a fairway wood today. Unfortunately I loved it. Better than everything else I tried.

I did a trackman fitting last week and this shaft was the clear winner. I have a 70tx tipped 1 inch. To

me, the original t1100 I had felt much more harsh than the smoke green 6.5tx. I am coming from over a year with the pro orange 70tx tipped 1”. I was getting some very high smash factors with the smoke green and I hit it better in every way than anything else I tried. It was the clear winner in my fitting.

I just recently caved and got a 6.5TX 70g Small Batch tipped 1" for my 9° G410 LST and it's the best driver/shaft combo i've hit to date. Very very stable and not harsh or boardy one bit.

I put the Hulk up against the Ventus Black yesterday. The Ventus had similar numbers, but the Hulk had much better dispersion for me. The sleeper in the group that was very close to the PX Green for me was the new KBS driver shaft. Don't forget to add that to your list.
