Has Koepka surpassed Dustin Johnson?

Koepka is well ahead of DJ this year. Over their careers we'll have to wait and see, DJ has a lot more wins but Koepka has the majors and is good bit younger than him. Johnson has really had a disappointing summer after a promising year up until the PGA Championship. Sometimes I wonder how things might have been different if he hadn't fallen down the stairs at the Masters in 2017, he was in the form of his life and has a good record at Augusta. At least he picked off one major, but he really should have a few more.

None of them dominate for as long as Tiger did. **Will DJ bounce back? Not many have bounced back strong after their hot streak ended. **

> > Have you actually looked at DJ's numbers the last 3-4 years? Or even just in calendar 2019? 2 wins, 2 2nds, 8 top 10''s in 17 starts. When did DJ's hot streak end?

> >

> I'm not saying he sucks, he just isn't the de facto favorite when he tees it up now. DJ is an excellent golfer, and winning 1 a year is like his baseline. When he was hot he had 4 wins. That was his peak in 2017. 2016, 17, 18 he all had at least 3 wins. These guys are just playing for the pinnacle, and he's no longer there. Just slightly below, but Koepka has won 3 times this year and has a greater than 3 point lead in OWGR over DJ.

> For DJ, when he's on his hot streak, he is world number 1, and there's no doubt about it. If fact DJ has a more consistently better game than Brooks. He just hasn't been winning the majors, and wins do matter.

DJ has 2 wins in 2019 (1 PGAT, 1 ET). So if he wins a playoff event he will be at 3 wins again.

It's definitely close.

Too bad TW robbed him of a career Grand Slam and his 2nd two major season.

Then, it would be academic for sure ; )

Koepka isn't done yet and you are implying DJ is done? After 12 years, 20 total wins, a W every year. 92 weeks as the #1. 2nd in WGC wins. Tied for 1st in FedEx playoff wins. Coming off a "down year" where he won and has two 2nd place finishes in majors this year. lol. throw in the towel DJ, you're done.

BK .. let's see how he does when he settles into marriage and kids. Nicklaus and Miller always pointed this out

It's affected Rors, DJ, YJS and Rickie to name a few recently IMO.

Young and single and lots of golf and travel and practice is always easier without commitments back home

No, I said at the current time Koepka has achieved much more than DJ.

And I said it's "possible" DJ will not achieve anything farther.

And that Koepka "isn't necessarily" finished.

The words "possibly" and "isn't necessarily" are hardly predictions. Just pointing out we have no idea what the future holds for either of them. But apparently DJ's fans believe he has multiple majors yet to come. And Koepka's detractors assume he's done all he will ever do.

At the current moment, what we do know is the past results. Which for Koepka far surpass DJ. Right now.

For majors won and overall play in the majors yes Brooks has been better. The last 4 seasons DJ's over all numbers are better than Brooks. From calendar 2016-2019 here is the tale of the tape.

Brooks - 83 events. 8 wins, 9 2nds, 1 third, 13 other top 10's (4-10), 8 M/C

Dustin - 84 events, 12 wins, 7 2nds, 7 thirds, 20 other top 10's (4-10) 6 M/C

Sorry that isn't Brooks far surpassing DJ. Unless you mean DJ Trahan. :)
