I can’t even order it two degrees upright!! If anyone knows how many were produced, please let me know!! I am furious over here. And, I own a buttonback and several other nice Scotty’s (all non circle T). I was going to game this bad boy for a decade or more. Sad days for people who wanted a putter like their first Scotty they got when they were 11 ( still have it )

Please tell me this is all sarcasm.

The first one. I'm not big on limited release/special edition stuff because I'm not a collector, and it would be silly to pay the premium for exclusivity and then use the club, reducing it's value. I'm more annoyed at the "for personal use" piece of the rules just being completely ignored. A good chunk of the stuff on the BST was clearly purchased with no intention of being used, from Jordan sneakers in 4 different sizes (what, did people not know their size and ordered a 7, and 8, a 9 and a 13?) to Scotty limited release headcovers that are still in the bag. If it's new, it should be in a different place. (in my opinion)

M5 w/Rogue
Cobra F6 3/4 wood w/Kuro Kage
RSI 2 driving iron w/recoil
PSI Tour 4-pw w/S300
MD3 50/54/58
Lajosi DD201 w/full face Damascus insert

I agree.

After perusing the BST, the T22 ads seem to be very prevalent. It does make it more difficult to look for certain items. Then again, that’s what the search function is for.

I would imagine that this would violate the many sponsorships that the forum owners benefit from. Just a guess. Similar to the “no new uncut shafts” rule I saw in the BST rules.

I don't think that's entirely true. Scotty selling $76 covers and $21 putting disks isn't bad. Keeping things limited creates long-term demand and keeps collectors interested. With the T22s, $599 for a limited and (to many) an iconic design is pretty good too considering the stock putters are around $399-$429.

That's a fair point, I can definitely see that side of the coin in terms of the more retail and general public limited items like the T22 or MyGirls for instance or monthly cover releases like you menitoned. However, I would say that in terms of the lessor wide release items, such as stuff sold in the Gallery, or the shows in Japan or released online via the Gallery (or Hive although I think Bettinardi is more reasonable price wise), Scotty has definitely seen a nice benefit there from the secondary market.

At the end of the day though, it is what it is, if someone is willing to pay it and someone else is willing to put in the additional work to obtain one of whatever that item may be then I say fair game.

That’ll never happen unless it was dragged behind a golf cart on the path for 18 holes.

I think you're right on Gallery items. If I thought I could buy a $3,000 Gallery putter and flip it fast for $4,000, I'd do it. But Scotty has taken most of the profit at that price.

I understand the frustration for not being able to find what you want. The only way to stop the scalping is not to buy them at inflated price. No one is forcing you to purchase it for whatever they are asking. Prices would have to come down when the demand drys up at the inflated price.

Mine came in today, NP2. I really wanted NP. So I told the store to sell to the next person in line. The profit is just too small to make flipping it worthwhile. Fees, shipping, insurance, and they are not that much over MSRP on eBay - a bit for sure, but some are selling for $799, with tax I would have been out $636. Add on shipping, fees to eBay and PayPal, and the bottom line profit, just too small.
