G400 VS. G400 MAX

I picked up a G400 Max off classifieds here and it was off the tour van with hot melt - all I can say is WOW!

I added yarn to mine, it definitely helps, but still likely need to add some hot melt. Likely need to find a CB shaft since it's already at D5 with the hulk 60 6.5TX

The weight can be changed for swinging purposes. You could also shave the weight you have if it's too heavy.

I’m with you. I added 5’ of yarn and it made some difference but still too piercingly loud for my taste and it had my ears ringing on the range after a couple of hits. I tried to remove the yarn for 30 minutes with a paper clip and I can’t find it anywhere. I think it slipped into some black home deep down in my driver head lol.

Has anyone compared the Max to the new G410 Plus? The movable weight on the g410 sounds interesting.

Search YouTube - lots there. The G410 still comes out on top for the most part.

Just joined WRX tonight, been reading the equipment forums for years, also a recovering Club Ho. Currently play the G400 Max, but did have the G410 Plus for awhile. The 410 is a great driver, but for me the 400 Max was longer, more forgiving. As weird as it may sound I feel like I can work the ball better with the Max. The 410 seemed to launch a bit lower, and I could not hit my standard baby draw with it on a consistent basis. Both had same shaft, grip, settings. The moveable weight didn't do much for me. Youtube has some good head to head videos when the 410 was released.

When I first got the GMax, I decided to cut it and that was a big mistake. So I decided to give the GMax another shot, and lengthened it to 46 1/4", and used the 12.5 gram weight. It is now in the bag. At first I tried it with the standard weight and it wasn't working, so I added the heavier weight and it came alive. Hit some great long and straight drives. Did I say long!!!

G400 Max with a Ventus is the straightest driver I have ever owned.

I posted about a month ago on this thread as I have a max off the tour van that has been hot melted and it is amazing. One thing that did surprise me is how well it has worked with a longer counterbalanced ALTA shaft. I did not get along with this shaft using the LST head - but something just clicks with it and the Max head. There is a noticeable sound of the shaft whipping through impact when I swing this combo. Wicked long and straight...

Just ordered a G400 Max 10.5 head to replace a G400 SFT 12 degree. Hit the Max in a local store and liked the way it setup and the numbers off the launch monitor. Been playing the G400 SFT for the last 2 seasons, really like it, but a little too draw bias. Can't wait to get the Max hopefully it will be easier to hit a fade when needed.

Just got back from deployment and was on the fence between a F9 and a 400. The more I read, the more it muddied. Ended up getting a regular g400 10.5.. So of course a max 10.5 pops up on ebay an hour later....
