Does anyone have launch monitor data showing the difference in wedge spin on the old AVX vs new AVX vs ProV1?

How did it go with the new AVX? Anxiously awaiting some feedback. I loved the “old” AVX and didn’t find it short off the driver like a lot of people did. And As a high ball hitter it really helped with iron shots. Prob gained 1/2 club.

I’m a high spin player so that’s why I really liked the old AVX. I played on a course that had very fast greens and I was able to get a lot of balls to check up really well. Actually had one pitching wedge spin back over 20 feet. Compared to the old ball I felt like the new one was a hair softer and it did seem to spin a little more around the green. Still need more time with it though to get a better feel. If you liked the old I don’t see anyone not liking the “new” one.

For guys that found it short off the driver, which balls were further for you that also fit your overall game?

Played 1 round with it last week.

Really can't say for sure whether it's longer or shorter off such a small sample size but either way it isn't much different.

As mentioned earlier, it does feel a tiny bit softer and it does spin a tiny bit more, at least on chip shots,,,,,,,,, but it's really close,,,,,,,,,,,,

2019 Pro V1. About 15 yards longer carry with driver (105Mph swing) and excellent feel with more of a bang instead of this mushy feel of AVX.

With that said AVX is outstanding for all other clubs, I’m one club longer with 2-8 irons and love it since it’s straight and long.

Catch 22 and very frustrating to not be able to game it :-/

I,m going to compare the left dash with the newAVX; that will be interesting on TrackMan, my spin wth left dash is radically low but it carries and I get excellent smash factor.

played the new AVX Saturday, there is a difference from the old version. It is SOFTER, I like that, and it does hold the greens better. I know they arent cheap, but I have found deals on ebay, and I am going to play it

It surprises me the number of people saying they find the AVX short off the driver. I found the opposite to be true for me. Weird game.

Every test shows this, especially high swing speed players. (Look at TXG video review of new AVX - huge difference).

But also for me with 105mph the difference is significant compared to for example 2019 Pro V1. But the biggest issue for me is the feel of the driver. There is no “bang” and you don’t feel the ball trampoline of the face with AVX. It feels mushy and instead of a great spring effect it just feels awful slow and almost heavy.

And as I said before, it’s very frustrating since all other aspects of AVX is for me phenomenal, especially 2-5 irons and I also love to putt with it.

Wasn't the TXG test done with only 3 shots per ball for each club? That's not really a scientific test IMO.

Same swing speed, same result with irons. I'm not really sure about driver. I get the same iron results with the RXS.

I tend to wonder if losing 15 yards on the driver is actually worth it to gain those 15 yards back with every other club in the bag. Essentially you're approaching with the same club, and if you're erratic with the driver, perhaps is makes sense to sacrifice the distance there as you'll be less offline.

bottom line this ball is a great wind ball. or if someon plays with too much spinny shots off driver. i thinks its better then the taylormade tp5x which is a great wind ball .for people like myself that plays in 10-20mph wind i have not found a better ball. im a long time player of prov1x the avx is the better ball for me. and 2nd generation of this ball is even better around green this year..

Thank you for this. I could not agree more. I am a slow swing player..90 MPH. I always use the ProvV1x for general rounds. When the wind kicks up I pull out the AVX. Now I even swap out if there is a stout head wind. Did it this morning. 4 holes heading dead into the east wind. Out comes the AVX. You can hit bullets off the tee with this thing and even into a 10mph plus headwind, there is almost no distance adjustment needed on approach shots.

Sure it spins less around the green, but certainly nothing that can't be adjusted for easily. (I only have played last year's model).
