Another nod for jcrew tech. I’m 6’3 and have the 7” and 9”. 9 hits just barely above the knee and the 7 let’s the thighs soak up some uv rays. Slimmer cut too.

I don't like really tight, hate super baggy and looking for some a couple inches above the knee.

Lululemon commissions are all I wear - bonus if you can get them in the warpstreme fabric as it keeps it shape, stretches well and actually beads off water for the less-than-perfect weather days

Have to agree with the Bonobos love. Great fit. Some nice technical features and fabric. Plus they're reasonably priced and you can almost always find a discount code or get them on sale.

Peter Millar Salem High Drape Performance shorts by a MILE. Inseam changes based on waist size. I wear a 33 that has a 8.5" inseam. I'm 5'11 and it hits 1/2" above the knee standing and pulls up easily when sitting. Very classy. The material is fantastic - very light weight. Doesn't show moisture. Easily dries. Pockets don't frail after heavy use. A lot of my golf short pockets frail on the edges from constantly pulling out tees, balls, glove, etc especially on my glove hand side. This was a huge positive personally for me. Bonus: they're hard to wrinkle. I fold them in my golf bag and pull them out on 50-50 days with no wrinkles.

One thing, Peter Millar waist sizes aren't consistent so watch out that for that. You might want to make sure your waist size is correct before buying multiples of a model. In the standard Millar khakis i need a 34 waist. In their performance shorts i'm a 33. I wish they would fix that.

Another PM Salem High Drape vote here. Best golf shorts I’ve owned. 33” waist and lower have 8.5” inseam. 34” and above are 9.5”.

I’m a 33”. Perfect fit. About an inch or so above the knee. Material is awesome. They are worth the higher price tag.

UNIQLO Kando shorts are my go to golf shorts, tailored, lightweight quick drying shorts, 9” seam sit just above the knee... and great price $29.90 USD .. colour range could be a bit better

10” inseam sounds like a bad idea if you’re looking for something that ends “a couple inches above the knee,” coming from someone who is 5’10” as well. Just FYI.

I just got these delivered yesterday and really like the fit. They are a thicker material but not heavy...its hard to explain but it's like a mix of a traditional chino material and a performance fabric. A little dressier look that might not be for everyone but my initial impressions are good. I think shorts below the knee are culottes.

White denim Wranglers bought at Walmart for under $20 have served me well for many years.

I did buy some nice ones from Rhone that are a little dressier.

A little shorter and my kind of style and fabric is a pair of Toes On The Nose I found at a shop in California a couple of years ago. Ultra comfortable but "cottony" old style feel.

I’m 6’ and wear the 7”, the 10” will rest right on your kneecap. Go with the 8” for sure!

Gotta give a shout to the UNIQLO Kando shorts. They’re the shorts/Pants that Adam Scott wears. Soft, comfortable material and a good fit. Relatively cheap at 29.90 a pair as well...

Just a heads up.. I haven’t received them yet but just ordered 6 pair of J Crew Gramercy Tech shorts 9” off of their factory site. Think I paid $15 a piece, maybe less after a 20% promo code. How bad can they be, their stuff is generally pretty solid. I am 6'3" so 9" will sit above by knee, 8" can get a little short for the course.
