I have not ever worn them, but I just ordered some of the J.Crew tech shorts from the J.Crew Factory website. On sale for $19.50 today, I ordered on Monday and there was an additional discount so I got 2 pair for $14 each with free shipping. I'll report my findings once I receive them in a week or so.

Factory J Crew tech shorts are by far the best budget choice in my opinion. They're the same cut as the regular J Crew just without 1 rear pocket. But the back pocket also doesn't have a zipper like the regular J Crew which i prefer. They're also infinitely better quality than the Gap / Old Navy tech shorts that they sold a shortwhile back.

I received my J Crew Factory 9” Gramercy Tech shorts and they are legit! Especially considering they are on sale for $9.99 now. I ordered a few pair of the flex khaki as well and like them so much I turned around and just ordered every color. I don’t like mixing textiles so I’ll wear the tech shirt with my poly blend shorts and the khaki with my active pique shirts. I got basically an entire summer wardrobe for less than $100. Then when you add in all the different sales going on with other brands like Stitch, DVRX, Bonobos etc im set.

Are the J Crew light weight or the typical heavy shorts made by Crew/Gap/Old Navy?

Typically for golf I wear Nike flat front shorts - I bought 3 pair years ago and had them hemmed to about an 8 inch inseam. I hate shorts that touch my knees so I ordered the j crew 7 inch ones.

This will be my first Bonobos and J Crew golf shorts. I will let you know which ones I like the most.

Is J Crew still around? They went into bankruptcy in early May. Aren't they being liquidated? I guess if you like their stuff you should be able to get it at a huge discount soon.

That was my understanding as well.

I'm guessing their shorts will be the thicker material I don't care for, but lots of people on here like them and for 9.99-14.99 a pair, not much to lose. If I dont like them for golf they should suffice as casual shorts to wear.

Those j crew gramercy tech shorts, do they stretch? They just say polyester on the site so I assume they don't. I guess for the money they may work but I love the adidas ultimate 360 for all that stretchy goodness

the stealth performance are an athletic cut but have 4 way stretch to the high drape at 2 way.

I assume it's the same material as the pants? I bought both at the beginning of the year and they had very little stretch. I like stretch.

They def don’t really have any stretch but they’re lite weight, comfortable and have a good modern fit. For $10 for something I’m using exclusively for golf it’s a no brainer.

I received my J Crew 7" tech shorts, and they were a little large in the waist. I've dropped a few pounds so guess I should have sized down. I returned them to the JCrew store but they didnt have the 7" models in stock, so I will have to re-order them if I want to get the right size. Unfortunately they are already sold out in the Navy in the size I will need.

On this, can someone give me a rundown on the difference between the Highland golf, Highland Tour golf and Lightweight golf short? Both highlands say 100% poly and the lightweight is like 56/44 poly/nylon, just curious if there is a fit difference between the 3?

Has anyone tried the Footjoy Lightweight performance shorts? Says they're a 9" inseam. If the quality is there they may be a good option if you can find some on sale.

I tried and now love the Nike flex shorts. I now own 4 pairs and won’t wear any of my fj or ua shorts anymore.

Kirkland hybrids. $17 and as good as my Harley and Bilabong hybrids. I'm 5 11 and they come just over the knee cap. Super comfy, durable and look great. All zippered pockets and a phone pocket. Nice and light so the boys can breath. Classic colors and patterns. I have at least 10 pair. All I wear every day.

10.5" according to NDC. Those would probably be at my shins lol. I have some Nike flat front tech shorts from years back that I had hemmed to around 8-8 1/2", and when I try any on in the store I feel like I'm from the 90's.

I just got mine today and they are not really lightweight, stretchy golf shorts, but they are decent for the price for sure. They will work for cheap shorts that look nice for casual wear and ok for golf.
