Mavrik Triple Diamond

Mine showed up today. Got if from Coolclubs. I didnt take a gram measurement, but its about 1/2 swingweight point difference which means only a gram or two lighter than my Maverik SZ.

Excited to launch it tomorrow (Club closed Mondays!)

It is truly a limited release this time around. So far, it seems to be harder to come by than last years triple diamond.

My TD Mav 9° was just delivered. Doesn’t have the tour hosel (-2/-1/S/+1). Only goes -1. Completely fine. Will never need or want that low of loft. Ordered it with Stnd length white 130 MSI 60X.

Popped the weights out. 14g rear / 2g front. Don’t know what is supposed to be standard. Didn’t request a specific swing weight when I ordered it.

I have a Stnd EF 9°. Play it at 8° to open up the face. Ventus Blue 6X. Slider weight in neutral. I hit up on it and produce my own loft. Love it.

No huge reason I got the new one and have not hit it yet. Hopefully will hit it this week.

I want to try this new head out with Ventus Blue 6x, Ventus Black 6x, Tour AD XC 6TX or X.

First impressions from looks are really positive. Based on face length heel to toe and ground to crown measurements (actual hitting area, not top down perspective) it is definitively larger! I measured from the longest portions of each face.

It looks like Hi-Toe hitters (me!) will have the more surface area. I am hoping that the the guys at Callaway made that hi-tow area a “hot zone” with their A.I.

Interesting. Yours doesn't have the dot on the face like some others. Where did you get yours? I find it odd that everyone seems to be getting different weight configurations.

As long as it has the "TA" serial #, it's the same exact head as all other "TA" and "TC" heads, just wasn't COR tested.

Got it from Fairway. Has a TA serial number.

ive got a Ventus 7X Blue, 6X Black, Pro White 60TX, Pro Orange V2 70 X and an AD DR that I can put in it. So I didn’t need any more shafts. ?.

Forgot to mention that I sent my regular Mavrik 9* to Continental Golf. My son put a pop up mark on it so I sent it in to refinish the top and black out the bottom. I also asked them to put hot melt forward to lower spin and reduce loft. Hoping to get the best of both worlds, lower spin but the forgiving head.

 

so I will head to the range when everything comes with 10 drivers and see what wins. ?

He said he had them. Not many but he had a few.

I'm not worried. He said he had the one I was looking for. Sent me the invoice and I paid right away so I expect it should go out tomorrow or the next day. Gives my knee time to heal. Partially tore the meniscus 3 weeks ago. Finally started walking late last week a bit. Still lots of pain but I can finally bend it without it hurting too much. Tore it partially off the bone.

Ouch. I had a similar experience but not nearly as harsh. Pulled my hamstring running so had to take a couple of weeks on the bench which is why I haven't been able to give my Triple D a thorough testing.

Yeah dr first said surgery but i asked if we could wait a few weeks and see how it’s going. Off the bone, dr said they can sometimes heal on their own. Going in tomorrow for the MRI. Hoping it shows progress. I think it will as the swelling is down and not nearly as much pain. I really stuck to not putting any weight, icing and elevating. Wife was the best as I didn’t move from the bed much and never went downstairs. Luckily I can work from home and just moved my laptop to my room.

Is that white dot on the center of the face the COR mark? I wonder why the head I received didn’t have one.

Also, any recommendations on how to tape this thing up when I test it so I can sell it if it doesn’t work?

Yours likely isn't a "TAxxx" serial number. Meaning it isn't a tour issue head. You have more of a retail head I suppose.

Thanks for info guys I emailed JD’s and he had what I was looking for also. Should have it by Friday or Saturday. The one thing he did tell me because I asked him about the weight differential in some of them, also some other shop Said the problem was the really light ones we’re hot melted, but the current ones that JD has or not that way

I wish. Believe it or not, we stayed at my in-laws lake cabin over the 4th. I woke up on the 5th and couldn't stand up straight. I am desperately trying to get my back functional again for my Member/Guest that kicks off Friday. But, since I won't be expecting greatness with my back the way it is, I will throw it in the bag right away.
