Cleveland RTX Zipcore Wedges

Anyone get the black wedges in yet? How do you think they will hold up as far as durability goes?

I was thinking the same thing. My thought was 58/60 in full and then heel&toe or s-shaped but I don't know. Let us know what Cleveland comes back and says

I replaced my mizuno lob wedge with this new 62 low bounce.  I’m not sure if it’s the wider sole, spinner shaft, or grooves but way more spin and comes out higher with steeper decent angle. Great around the greens and surprisingly works in the bunker too. I would never play this in a gap or sand wedge though. Too spinny.  Stick with my mizzys.

full shot, partial shots, and /or out of the rough? I’m having a really difficult time getting my lob wedge to stop On partials and out of the rough. I know it’s the archer and not the arrow, but trying to find an arrow That might marginally help.

I won't ever hit a full lob wedge shots, at most I would play it 40 yards.  This works great on partial shots, in the rough, even the bunker.  This just works.

Saw all the finishes today. I prefer the black satin. 

 

On a side note, I messed around with the CBX full face and really liked it. Would love to see the Zipcore groove tech on the full face wedge.

ugh. I gotta pull the trigger I guess. Darn wedges, I’m like a moth to flame. Seriously, I don't think there’s a 2020 wedge I didn’t get a pair of. Why stop now, right? Maybe these will be the ones that drop my cap by 5 shots.

What's everyone's experience with the new spinner shaft? I traditionally have played s400 on my wedges, but wanted to know what the consensus was on this stock shaft?

I have the 54* full sole Tour rack with a little heel and trailing edge relief. I would think this would be the closest by giving you wider sole width but reduced bounce on the trailing edge.

I’ve been looking heavily at these. For the pricing and also the fact you can get hand ground and a classic Cleveland look. They look great.

Ordered Satin Chrome. Doesn't glare light onto the face and looks better than black. Personal preference of course.

I currently game RTX4 and have ordered Zipcore in 54* and 58*. Keeping the 50* RTX4 in the bag.

 

Spin is slightly more with Zipcore comparing new to new. Gave me about 800 RPM more in average which I think is significant.

 

Half swing definitely better spin rate with Zipcore hence ordered 54* and 58*.

Does anyone know if the relief edge tour sole grind change the bounce on the wedges? I’m looking into the 60 low bounce with the relief edge tour sole grind and just curious if it’ll change the affective bounce or will it still be roughly 6?

I'll be joingin the zipcore family shortly. Going to keep my glides for playing in dew/rain, but the zipcore in black was too good to pass up. If it passes initial tests I might grab a lob wedge. Really love the full face cbx from the bunker but it's not really great for me on anything longer than 40-45 yards.

I would agree with above comments regarding these dig more, I had to bend my lw 2 degrees week and flatten lie angle to make it work.  Now its awesome!!

I mean, that's not terrible but I see what you're saying. Seems like maybe the SM7/8 finish is much more durable, I have a buddy who played 70 rounds on his jet black and it doesn't seem to reveal that lighter finish under it like this.

 

I'm lucky I got a good deal and mine's still in plastic. Might be able to just sell it and get my money back.
