white/silver combo tees only sloped for women. there are 2 other sloped/rated setups (1 at ~6400, 1 at ~6200) rated for men that have been used historically for specific tournaments where some holes are played from green, some blue, some white, some silver etc.

there's also an unrated/sloped set of "black" tees where we stretch the course out to anywhere from 6750-7k for the occasional week day member tourney. wish they did this for outside events & got the course rated / sloped from that distance, but doubtful it occurs.

there are also black red & gold tees all under 6k yards. i believe the blacks were meant for the top women, the golds for juniors. most women play the red. the blacks arent sloped for men, but the reds and golds are.

Original 9 is our back 9 and is an old school Ross Design built in 1909. Goofy finishing hole though. We finish on a 215 yard par 3 from the blues and 231 from the black tees. Black tees are only played in our Club Championship. Everything else is from the blues. I typically only play the black tees in preparation for that, since every other competition is from our blue tees.

I play several courses.

 

Local CC is now black, blue white, red.  Up until about three years ago there was no black.  They added them and got them rated.  They stay at the very back where the tournaments are played from.

Local public is Blue, White, Red.

Muni in the town to the north, black, gold, green, red.  They've also painted a teal and purple band on the cart part to create junior players teeing spots and I assume have a separate card and rating for them.  Course is pretty short but two of the longer par fives have ponds in the fairway that require a layup.  Several par fours are severe dog legs and have trees planted along the side of the tee box to prevent cutting the corners.

 

Another muni in TN I played for several years had a good set up.  Blue were the very backs, White was the next physically different tee markers, but they had a blended set that were painted orange that used a mix between blue and white that was what I normally played.  Then gold and red for senior men/advanced ladies/juniors and super senior or begineers.  They used section of cut railroad track as tee markers.  On the blue, white and orange blended set the orange tees would be either the blue or white with just the sides painted orange.  It also made them look very similar to the University of Tennessee "power T" in UT orange so I am sure that was strategic.

Most member play is white or blue. Good golfers mostly blue/black. Ladies generally red but occasionally yellow, juniors start yellow and work upwards

Saturday I played Eagle Crest in Ypsilanti, MI, home of Eastern Michigan golf.    They use eagle heads for tee markers when playing from the tips (not me).
