Myself and Mrs. Lancer and a golf bud are teeing it up Wed late morning at an Alamance County course which really puts the "country" in country club.   Nothing fancy, no frills, low green fees,...should be great weather and some nice laughs.

Remember I was running in Target this week to get the bottles that aid the commish in doing his job around here, and I saw another version of one of the main characters in my Pea story. Life has spooky angles.

Now I'm stepping out to chat with Bob and then listen to my walk up music. I will be back to buzzed type what happened and hear many of you say  ..............Oh MY! 

 

 

 

 

 

and One of my all time favorite female singers. Marilyn Mccoo was one of the very best.

So it's a Saturday night in the fine dining world of commish. Late 80's Tyson's Corner, Virginia.  Call it McLean VA...where the Kennedy's lived. Touch knows it is his ball buster volume shift of the week. I am flying around making sure the dining public is having an enjoyable time with fine food and wine when the lady up front and in charge gestures urgently for me to come to the podium.

Just logged in to see that! Wow! It was a tough slog out there! I love Bay Hill and the challenges it presents for long bombers and short stickers. Great tournament worthy of The Great Arnold Palmer the gentle swashbuckler from Latrobe Pa. 

I am thankful for such a bountiful week and promise to press on.

After tossing Reed and Morikawa at Riviera to the wayside, after taking them in ATT I am happy to have recouped a little points this week. All is well in the first week of March.

Keep the chins up and forward we all move towards the majors!

I know you have promised to take some but........pictures or it didn't happen.  No sincerely that news you shared earlier this week, that it's all set to go, the return of the berry bomber, warmed this old golf buddy's/ rommies heart. Stay with it. You will thank me. And congrats again doc on a fine week of picks. Indeed it was a compelling tournament in honor of golf's King.  Well said sir.

So among the loud din of a packed Saturday night I drop everything and head to the cheetah at the door who has been getting red faced trying to get me to see her.

 

The queen then in a stern voice says,

" LP, this is the 3rd phone call for you in the last hour from this same guy, please tell him you are busy and make him stop bothering me." 

 

the commish grabs the phone.

 

" hey touch , what you did to Mary was wrong. Way f'ing wrong. Have fun driving home tonight because your car is in bad shape." 

 

"click"

 

commish hangs up the phone and heads to the window that has an obstructed view of the back lot the employees park in. I see something awful. 

 

commish is on the biggest stage of his week and can certainly not step away at this time to deal.......

 

it was an awful gut punch.

I finished my shift about 90 minutes after getting that phone call. I walked to my MR 2 in the employee lot out back.

From 30 yards out I saw my lil'  black beauty smoldering. There were actual vapors rising from the entire body of the car. There were sounds kind of like sizzling. The hit man had doused my Toyota with a nice mix of professional paint remover and an acid of some sort. This was before cell phones so no instant shameful picture was taken.  No I was standing there breathless and in shock. I knew this was the work of The Pea. She had taken it really far with this move. I got in and drove to the nearest gas station because the roof paint was continuously dripping down on the windshield. Using the wipers as I did once only compounded matters. At the all night pump and snacks I got my first sneers and comments from the half drunk party people stopping in as I cleaned the front windshield as best I could. I was stared upon at every red light during my 12 mile drive home. The car was still smoldering, dripping, and oozing as I arrived home.  I looked like I was driving something in very scary condition .  I made it home. So shocked, and feeling so ill when looking at my pride and joy MR 2 .

Monday morning I headed to my insurance company's drive in claim center. Yes me in the Mad Max sports car. The one that looked like it had driven 25 miles through a desert sandstorm followed by a hot volcanic landslide to get there. I pulled into lane 3 red. That was the lane they assigned you if you had an Evil Ex girlfriend caused damage claim.  I got out of the car and began the process of getting the MR2 back in shape. I overheard a few of the service writers jabs of, " wow , who did you do wrong man?, and who's wife did I get caught doinking?"

That morning there was about as embarrassed as I have ever been in front of the general public. I left with a rental car. Over those two days I might have yelled up towards the sky a few dozen times with " damn you Pea. "

 

I didn't retaliate nor did I contact her. I hope she, in a mean mental state sort of way felt she got somewhat even with me. I knew how deeply I had crushed her. I knew I forced this desperate move on her part. I knew probably I kind of deserved it .

 

But WTF , why not a normal grade A key the paint job man?  

 

Naw the tough Italian girl from Youngstown did it better, she did it pro style. The Pea knew how to get it done with a bit more authority.

Mary had us getting married and starting to have kids 5 years later. I did not see that happening. In my mind marriage would be possibly looked into after age 30. She then started to smother me. I had to end it and move on. Heck in my 20's in DC I had  a pace of one girlfriend after another. I liked it that way but I was an a** and a cold heart breaker to a few. I told the Pea we were over. She flew off the handle. She  would not accept it. She started to follow me here and there. She would cry and plead her case. I stood firm. It did really hurt me but I knew I was not getting coerced into getting married and having kids. She would lay off and stay away a bit and then find me once again. Remember the story the doc told about the Pea tearing on to the golf course to chase me while I was playing? yeah that kinda sh*t. I thought about a restraining order but never went through with it. Her sobbing and pleading turned into anger and rage. She would run into me and pound her fists all over my torso. I do believe the dear girl had a form of a breakdown, and I know I was the cause of it sadly. She kept shouting that no other woman was going get her LP and she would make sure of it. Plenty of fits and it was not a pretty situation. I believe only one police visit for her causing a disturbance. The Pea was hot.
