Summary..........

Mobil Menu shown in the upper right corner as 3 horizontal lines provides on its first page "FORUM"

Below is a pic of the Main Tiers of the FORUM:

Compared to the above FORUM there are a couple of Tiers missing:  

1.  Deals, ProShops, Bargains, and Swaps;

2.  Front Desk Customer Service Area.

Also "HOME" would be essential to get to the base Forum Tier.

 

Not sure why these Main Tiers are missing?  but adding them should be helpful in traversing to areas in the Forum that is difficult without.

And what is that "PGA WITB" included in the FORUM menu item?  Get rid of that.

 

Bottom Line...include the Main Forum Tiers as shown below in FORUM menu item and get rid of Forums under "Browse".

The menu system can’t please everyone. Without showing a pathway to major forums, there is no other way to navigate to get back and then it becomes way too long. So people will need to do one more click To get to major forums or create their own customs activity stream. 
 

Also, Activity and Activity Stream is how the forum is meant to be navigated.

I was hoping that the FORUM under the Menu item can be obviously seen as Incomplete.  Fix that and all is good.

Not sure why it is there....I see no way to fix it myself.

It’s not incomplete because menus pop out when clicked. The menus are a global navigation function. 
 

It’s a breadcrumb when one can’t get back. 
 

If the point is to Follow forums, then click the follow button In each forum you want to see and select forums I follow in the Activity stream. Searches can also be done in unread and then drilled down into content I follow.

Q.  Why are the remaining Forum Tiers not included?

No I do not want to FOLLOW...just navigate to the major FORUM Tiers and which are not included as shown below.

If you hover your mouse (desktop) over "Browse", the main desktop "tab" you are looking at in the pic above, the top 4 in your picture are there. Getting your pic the way you would like it would require changing the site's desktop organization of tabs.

 

And while I disagree with some of that organization based on where board users go most often, most of it works pretty well.

I am not referring to BROWSE........FORUMS menu item is just below BROWSE in MOBIL

I am referring to the MENU ITEM FORUMS and adding the Major Forum Tiers that are missing...nothing major at all.

See my pic above showing what should be showing.

Very simple to add the other Tiers

You need 1 "extra" tap to get all the forums listings - Browse, then forums. As Gxgolfer mentioned the board is (intended to be) optimized for the most users.

Overall I like the look, but I see new for sale posts in the activity feed and then if I click on the link under the classifieds tab those do not appear to be updated. Last post was from 13 hours ago on that page.

Not sure but I believe the sub-forums, or tiers, are limited to a single line on the desktop. Clearly all the forums wouldn't fit across and even if multiple lines are possible it would look,,,,,,,, sloppy.

Correct .... just the Main FORUM TIERS as shown below:

This allows one to get to any area on the Forums.

It seems slower to me as well, and many times pages are reloading, “due to a problem occurring.” 

 

Also, when I click on a topic, many times only a portion of it loads.  I didn’t have this problem before, nor am I on any other site I visit.

By "Home", I assume you mean the MAIN Forums page.

 

Click on the 3 horizontal bars in the upper right, then "Forums", then "Home".

 

Yes, it is slow tonight by mobile (desktop seems pretty good)

Yes, this, along with changing the layout of functions or moving them around, changing other aspects of the UI, a return to slow response, etc. I don't understand this. We went through a huge and badly-needed change just recently and had something that most people liked albeit still with a few glitches. But moving from 3.0 to 3.1 should have been mostly a shave and a haircut type of thing, not another mostly new setup. I don't understand the lack of stability, not just with the backoffice tech, but in what the user has to interact with. What was the point of this happening so soon right after the recent migration?

The site is still much slower than it was before the latest update last weekend. It is a lot slower than other popular heavily used forum/message board websites.

 

It would be interesting to learn what the experts say is the reason why the site became so much slower after it had been adequately fast just a week earlier. Something had to have caused the change.

Seems to be the law of unintended consequences. A FEW people didn't understand the difference between the "star" and the "button" for "Go to first unread" and because they were used to clicking on the title to get to "First Unread", got confused and asked about it.

 

Instead of putting up a "help" topic and/or letting them find their way, the star is gone and NOW ALL posts are displayed individually instead of just 1 for each topic. So the confusion about "First Unread post" actually STILL exists.

Which is interesting BTW, because EASILY the MOST complained about "feature" (See Vokey Giveaway thread) was about SEARCH and particularly the board's ordering of the SEARCH results. Was there ever a resolution to this?  It makes it much longer and more difficult to get through the different topics when every response is an individual line item in the activity feed.

4.5 is a heavier page load on servers and new ones are being built.

Is the site still having issues with notifications? I'm not receiving emails for messages. I turn my notifications off, then back on, and in the meantime got a message but no email. Not in my spam filter either.

Done and done. Unfortunately something's still not working. I use a hotmail account for my WRX account and there's nothing to be found there. Even password reset emails don't go through, which I know worked prior to reset as I kept getting signed out and forgetting my password. Something's not working between the two sides. I'm now trying to change the email address associated with my account, but in order to do that I need my password, which after changing a half dozen times the past 6 months here I have no idea what it is. Going in circles.
