It looks like I only have one player carrying the flag the next 2 weeks 😳:  Marina Alex in Singapore and Yealimi Noh in Thailand.   Your lead seems pretty secure for now!

We're down to eleven players and meek winner's points in Thailand.  We definitely need to have a winner.  Go Lydia, Su, Hannah, Minjee, Danielle, Charley, Amy, So Yeon and Six's.

This is crazy, Yealimi Noh withdrew from Pure Silk Championship.  She's #99 in current year CME standing, she desperately needs to play every tournament she's eligible for in order to earn more CME points. 

 

Additionally, she also withdrew from the alternate list of Las Vegas Match Play.  Either she's injured or there're other personal reasons, but this is a worrisome development!

Well, let's hope it is nothing too serious and that she only wants to mentally focus and prepare for other upcoming events.  She is a talented enough young player that she should have a good career ahead of her.

 

Now as for our contest ... I have been upset with myself since day one ... I hesitated between picking Patty as my Rookie or Yealimi ... as you know, when you and I started the rookie contest last year, Patty was on my roster as my first pick ... but I hesitated this year because I was not certain where her frame of mind was and whether she would need another year under her belt vs. Yealimi who managed to rack up points pretty good last season.  

 

Of course after the first two events this season in which Patty played, I regretted not following my instincts and staying with Patty!  😂

To a mere fan that gets his info from the media, I sense that that $10k fine Yealimi was given for slow play may have rattled her.

I remember her saying she made $4k in winnings but then lost $10k from the fine, giving her a net loss for the week.

If she doesn't have strong financial support, that setback can hurt.

It certainly rattled her at the Kia where she's fined; she'd a total of 12 three putts in 4 rounds including 6 at the final round.  She also missed the cut the next week.

 

She seemed to have played better recently at Lotte and Thailand; that's another reason I find it odd that she withdrew.  The strength of field at Pure Silk is the weakest all year; a great chance to win or Top-10.

 

Since she's not yet a star like Nelly Korda or Lydia Ko, we may never know why she withdrew.
