Reviving this topic again before I start a new one...

 

My main concern regarding my no-show socks for golf is that they DO NOT SLIP down. I don't care if they feel downright tight around the tops -- I just don't want them to slide down and under my heel. Slippage is just such a distraction to me that I can't put up with it.

 

It appears that the Bombas lightweight no-shows are what I'm after. Can any of you speak more on how they've worked out for you? Is it the rubber numbs inside the backs of them that really keeps them up, or is it the spandex in the socks that keeps them tight and up?

 

For reference, I used to buy (and am still clinging to some) Nike dri-fit synthetic blend no-shows, but they've clearly changed the construction of the sock, and they will not stay up in my golf shoes. So, I really need a new line of socks, and they need to stay up.

I’ve tried a lot of socks - swiftwick, balega, stance, feetures, darn tough. They all have their strengths. 
 

I prefer the feetures most. Enough support/construction but not overly so. They stay up nicely bc of the material blend being stronger (?) and not too loose. I don’t think silicone strips would be the answer to keeping socks up. They also have a better heel tab than others I’ve tried - slightly higher riding.

mainly darn tough the last few years but swiftwicks newest sock the flight xt or whatever it’s called is pretty amazing. 
breathable, good compression and grip and more cushion than some of their other models

Darn Tough.  Lifetime warrantee.  Have been using T4088 for about 5 years
they still feel new, no pilling, wear, looseness.

they have a variety of height/weight socks - expensive but they last and last...

Which Feetures model? The "Performance" ones look to have the compression (tightness) I'm looking for to stay up.

 

I'm also not looking for cushioning, per se. Just something that's going to stay up.

I actually have the elite max cushion, which arent that much cushion to me. Balega hidden comfort are much thicker. My swiftwicks are thinner. So I feel the feetures are like a medium thickness. The balegas are looser. 

 

Btw I really dont like Darn Tough even though most people would seem to disagree. They arent stretchy enough so they dont pull on as easily and dont conform as well - i.e. the toe area kinda has excess sock material here and there. and the heel area has funny folds. I've had dress socks and quarter length athletic socks from darn tough and same issue with both. Just my opinion. Their absorbency also feels off. Maybe I am just weird.

Agree with a caveat. The Swiftwick XT Trail is better with merino wool. Unfortunately doesn’t come in one or no show heights but great for fall golf.
