Noodle's are the best ball money can buy - change my mind.

What do you play with now?

This year ive primarily played with the Vice Pro balls. They arnt bad and more of a jack of all trades ball. Experimented with the e12 Contact balls, those are super hard and decided against them. This week Im trying the Callaway Hex Tour balls I got from Costco. Im looking for a softer feel for control around the greens that doesnt completely screw you off the tee with high swing speeds.

Its hard to find that common ground unless you want to pay $50 for ProV1x balls.

I hear you.  I've learned that I prefer noodles because they have a soft feel around the greens but I think they are punishing my driving.

How do the Hex Tour balls  compare? I have been playing Super 'Softs but these are much cheaper so would like to try if can get equal or better performance.

Lack of spin around the greens is a deal breaker for me.

What does forgiving cover mean? If it’s feel, sure that’s subjective. It’s a good distance ball for slower swing speed.

And 1) height and weight doesn’t necessarily equate to higher swing speed 2) higher swing speed doesn’t matter if the rest of your swing mechanics are off (path, face, angle of attack)

play what YOU like and what fits your budget. Most importantly, play the same (or similar ball) consistently. Understanding/predicting ball behavior and tendencies is more important than the ball itself. Good discussion, cheers!

Relatively new.  My swing speed is likely very high as I'm very tall and pretty big.  I've played with a bunch of different balls and I just think the surface of the noodle is very forgiving.

Play what works for you. Confidence in your equipment can be a big factor in golf.

I'm curious what you mean by "the surface of the noodle is forgiving"

I am more of a fan of the QStar but it’s a 2 piece uranthane cover. Good distance and green side spin . Worth a try

Q Stars Tours are urethane and they are 3 piece balls.  Q Stars are 2 piece with ionomer cover.  The only current 2 piece urethane ball readily available on the market these days is the Saintnine U-Pro.

To each their own, the data generally suggests more ball speed for slower swing players with a ball like the ProV1x. In addition to having addition spin and a consistent ball flight on irons and wedges. That being said they are quite expensive and if money is an issue and you like Noodles go ahead and play them.
