Solid week for Danielle. It was funny when she sat on the retaining wall yesterday. 

 

Another high finish for Hyo Joo in a major. She definitely shows up for the big ones.

People wouldn't believe me if I say I saw this coming when Nelly was playing Symetra Tour in 2016.

 

I's so confident that Nelly would be #1 in the world that I bet with @KBong that Nelly was going to be within 500 points of Sung Hyun Park in 2017 Rookie of the Year Race.  Unfortunately, I lost.

 

But, I've never lost my faith and this is the day that it pans out.

 

Not only Nelly will be a great #1 and great ambassador for women's golf, but she'll open the new chapter of LPGA when the tour will be dominated by players born 1997 or after.

Still give the nod to Minjee considering her steady World rankings over the years, Jess has been on tour since 2011, Minjee 2015. Minjee has more top 10's in 4 less years.

It's amazing the difference in scoring between the two nines. Lizette was 2 under on the back for four rounds. She was 14 under on the front. 

 

Nelly was 5 under on the back, and also 14 under on the front.

I do recall you saying Nelly will have a long tenure as #1 American. I also recall in early 2020 you said Maria Fassi will start to blossom this year..whoops 😀

Nelly couldn't close out tournaments. She has half her wins this season alone. Three wins in four years prior was good, but it wasn't world shattering. 

 

She certainly seems to have jumped to the next level. She's been one of the best ball strikers for several seasons now, but her putter has come alive.

I highly doubt Patty is a one and done player, but winning a major as your first LPGA victory hasn't exactly been a blessing for a few of the gals out there.

You know, I think you run into trouble with your over excitement of these players. Which is fine, but when you put them on the throne before they are royalty you should expect backlash when they fail to receive the crown immediately.

I assume she's OK. Just appears that NBC has decided to go with Paige on the network broadcasts. I bet we'll see Judy back in the booth next week in Texas.
