That’s why I purchased my GC3. I wanted to microscopically look at my numbers in order to fine tune my swing as much as I could. 
 

I spend 90% of my time on the range working on things and dialing in my strokes. I can say that has been invaluable. It’s like getting a lesson 7 days a week. Of course you have to know the numbers and what numbers you should be getting, but it really isn’t hard to learn.

 

I have really enjoyed playing courses more than I thought though. If the weather is iffy or I don’t feel like leaving the house, I no issues with playing 18 simulated holes instead. 
 

As far as chipping and pitches go, the only real difference for me is the lies. My Fiberbuilt mat has a good lie for everyone, but you do gain a lot of clubhead control from chipping in the sim.

I need to give a shout-out to the Foresight Support guy that I worked with today as well.

 

I had worked with two other associates in the past and they were solid, but the guy I had today went over and beyond to make sure everything was good to go before we ended the call.

 

He had my problem resolved with my dual FSX Live accounts fairly quickly, but he remained remotely in my PC for another 20 minutes making sure all of my settings were good to go. I was ready to hang up and have lunch but he kept working on my PC so I went with it.

Better be glad you bought it because they just increased the price by $1000. Same hardware same software????

I just spent the last days reading this full thread since my BLP will be delivered next week. I read a lot about connection issues with the BLP and iOS/iPad is there a way to run the iPad hardwired to the BLP with a USB C connection? I'm mainly using this outdoors on the range and want a log of my sessions but hoping I won't have to consistently deal with disconnects between the two devices so hoping there might be a way to hardwire things.

99% of the wireless connection issues have been resolved by firmware and reading the directions:)

 

You should be good to go.

I ran into this same issue and it appears as the message states, for whatever reason the Download Manager is not starting automatically when you start FSX play.

 

Found this article on how to start the Download Manager before launching FSX Play. Which fixed my issue and then allowed me to download the Paris driving range from within FSX Play.

I bought FSX play today, and when entering my FSX 2020 license code trying to activate software, all it says is “server is taking time to respond to this request”

 

I’ve been trying for 4 hours now. Can’t get in. So annoying.

And to clarify, I did read all the help articles (including the specific one on the above issue). 
 

I’ve redowloaded the software 5 times and have downloaded .Net separately to assist in the process too. 
 

I don’t understand why their entire software downloading and install process has to so difficult.

Did you receive an email with a new Play license? Or did you try logging into your fsx live account and see if there is a new Play license listed there? I'd be surprised if fsx 2020 and play operate on the same license #

 

But I totally agree. The software side is lacking, lots of room for improvement here for FS/Bushnell

Like Topher stated you’ll get a separate key emailed to you.  Took 2 days to get mine after purchasing on the website and that was back when they just released it to 100 people…

As far as i understand, you are supposed to type in your active 2020 license key, as that’s the message that pops up. I haven’t gotten an email with a new PLAY license key.

I’m waiting on everything which should process on Monday according to my rep (ordered last Tuesday night). 
 

What is the software I should start with for practicing on the range and playing courses? Sounds like I get a few choices here.

Still like the FSX 2020 range for working on shots.  FSX Play is what I use when playing courses.

As far as i understand, you are supposed to type in your active 2020 license key, as that’s the message that pops up. I haven’t gotten an email with a new PLAY license key. 

 

If you’re talking about when FSX Play launches, I think I selected the option for BLP subscription which takes you to the log in. I never typed in a license number.

It's because they changed the basic subscription to include spin axis and full club data.

I like the way it displays shot data better.  The tables and comparison tools are better…I’m not even sure if Play has comparison yet.  And I still slightly prefer the ball physics/chase cam in 2020.

Yeah, that's all the functionality I want from a range; I don't need the Eiffel Tower in the background to work on my ballstriking.

 

While the FSX Play courses look MILES better than 2020, hard pass on the upgrade given GSPro's community built course library at bargain pricing. Typical Foresight wanting $500 for the FSX Play upgrade for GC3s and unlocked BLP early adopters, and then $125+ per course on top of that. Purchase 1 premium course and FSX Play, and that's about 3 years worth of GSPro with access to all software updates and a growing library of 200+ courses

Non-stop disconnects tonight. Couldn’t get FSX2020 or FSX Play to record more than ~10 shots. I’m running the previous firmware on BLP so I’ll try to download the latest tomorrow but incredibly frustrating putting all the kids down and spending 45 minutes troubleshooting.  I’ve had my sim for 2 months and it runs seamlessly roughly 7/10 times for context. I have it setup on USB. Anyone have similar issues lately? How are we feeling about the latest FW?

Never used it outside. But the unit doesn’t miss shots. It just loses the connection to FSX 2020 / Play. So I go to reconnect it and it crashes FSX.

That’s happened to me quite a few times. I then have to shut down the unit and restart everything or it won’t recognize the monitor

Glad to know it’s not just me. Are you running latest FW? For me, I know it’s coming when it starts to lag between a shot and showing it in FSX. After 2-3 like that, it disconnects. Upon trying to reconnect, FSX will crash.  I was thinking it could be due to weak WiFi in my garage but I’m connected with USB from BLP to PC. So who knows.

I ordered a Bushnell Launch Pro (BLP) and I am finding the subscription levels to be a bit confusing.

 

I intend to get a gaming PC and projector a few months later but for now I want to just use my iPad Pro and hit into a net. Is there any reason for me to consider Silver or Gold subscription at this time? For context, I live in the Denver area so are there settings such as altitude or barometer that are not available for basic subscription, that would make the readings less accurate? Or any other features that would only be available with Silver/Gold on an iPad?
