FJ Premier vs G/Fore Gallivanter. Comfort?

These seem to be some of the best premium, widely available shoes to us golfers.   Anyone have both?   I would think the Gallivanters have more comfort? Their heel padding and insole I would think would give them an edge.   Anyone want to chime in on quality? Fit, comfort? 
 

compared to each other.   
 

im aware there are fanboys of each but anyone tried both and have opinions?

I have the Gallivanters and love them.  Definitely want to try the new FJ too though, so I'm interested to hear others' thoughts.

I prefer my premieres over the gallivanters. They are sturdier and have better grip, plus feel like they will hold up longer. You can find sizing guides on other threads but I’m a 9.5 in athletic shoes and I wear 9.5 in g4 and in between a 8.5-9 in premieres.

I have multiple pairs of both. I prefer the Premiere's, better grip and feel like slightly better quality (Gallivanters are still very good obviously). The heel's in the Premiere's are no issue if you have the right size, never had a blister. I walk and have played an insane amount of golf the past two seasons and my Gallivanters are definitely quite worn on the heels and toe, being able to replace the spikes on the Premiere's is a plus. Oh and 100% size down .5 a size in the Premiere's to Gallivanters.

I have both and prefer the FJ's which was a total surprise to me.  I where the spikeless FJ's and I couldn't believe how light on my feet they felt.  Still love the G4's but Foot Joy really knocked it out of the park with these.

I have Premieres and they are by far the best shoes I have ever worn on the course. Little stiff in the beginning but once you get them broken in its just pure comfort. 

 

I should note that I have horrible feet from playing hockey and this the first time I have had a pair of shoes not hurt me one bit. I also walk 18 holes 4-5 times a week.

They are my two favorite shoes. The FJ is 9.5 and the gfores at 10. The gfores are wider, but I think the FB is a little lower and has slightly better grip. I tend to grab the FJ first lately

I have been wearing Gallivanters for 3 seasons now. Just got a pair of Premieres. At first the Gallivanters were more comfortable but as the Premieres have broken in I prefer them. Also im a wide in G4 and medium in FJ. For what it's worth. Went with the blue/black Lizard on these guys. Planning on ordering another pair.

Been debating these exact two.  After reading the comments, ordered a pair of FJ Premier Packard in black.

I have worn both, and prefer the FJ Premiere to the Gallivanter.  If you are looking for spikeless, the Premiere Flints are my favorite pair of golf shoes I have ever owned—they check all the boxes.  Comfortable, light weight, grip on the turf is fantastic, and style is top notch.

I have two pairs of gallivanter and a pair of the premiere tarlows. Grip is definitely better on the FJ but the verdict on comfort is still out. I have only worn the FJ one time and got a couple of blisters hopefully once the shoes are broken in this isn't a problem. I'm also thinking of taking the soles out of a pair of gfore and putting them in my premieres. Sizing I wear a 10 in gfore and got a 9.5 in the premiere, both fit great.

mine took 1 round to break in. Have been great ever since.

Hmmm.  Love the look.  I’m conflicted on fit.  With FJ running big and them not offering a 12.5 (I wear 13/14 in adidas and Nike) the 13 fits fine but there is just a little heel slippage with my thickest of socks.  I keep wondering if the galivanters fit (me) better?   May have to order some of them as well.

I don't think they are at all comparable in terms of comfort. 

 

Footjoys always have and continue to fit and feel like dress shoes. No heel cushion, very stiff uppers, and hard sole inserts. 

 

Gallivanters feel super cushioned and supportive, and their insert is great.

I have a few pair of both and I prefer the Premiere. I was a diehard Icon Black fan but moved onto the Gallivanter  when they cam out but have since decided to buy a few pair of the Premiere and I absolutely adore them. They are great stability wise and they're very lightweight. 

 

For what it's worth I don't wear socks in either pair and have never once had a problem.

I tried the no socks approach mentioned above with the Premieres…wow, what a comfortable fit. I’ve never considered not wearing socks with golf shoes, especially if walking, but may give it a go.

It’s just not as nice, quick and easy as walking in, trying on and deciding.

I haven't stepped foot in a retail store for any clothing or shoe purchase for years. I find it much more convenient to shop from the comfort of my home.
