Little lower Spin and Launch Options to KBS $ Tapers?

Currently I play the KBS $ Taper S+ shafts.  I like the feel of them, but I think they still launch and spin a tad too high for me.  I got them because they were supposed to be sorta in-between the C-Taper (which I didn't like the feel) and the KBS Tour (launched and spun way too high).  

 

So I'm looking for similar feel options with a tad lower launch and spin.  I have the True Temper DG Tour Issue S400 shafts in my 52, 56 and 60 and feel that they seem to launch a little less.  Wonder if there are any other potential options to look at.

DG 120 S400 should be a great option.

I swapped out my I swapped out my $-Taper 125s for the Tour Issue shafts.

Slightly ower flight, not as smooth as the $-Tapers  but a nice DG thump to them. More consistent, but that’s a relative thing for each of us.

I think you would be very happy with them.

Since you’re coming from S+, if you go S400 I’d hard step them. Another option would be to soft step some X100s.

If you love the feel, stick with them and just tweak the head lofts to manage the launch/spin.  That's way more effective (and less expensive too).   Trying to manage launch and spin with shaft changes is more often a wild goose chase than not. 

 

But then of course, this is golfwrx - and some people here enjoy chasing geese 🙂

Interested in this comparison from a feel/performance standpoint. Aside from the balance point and tip stiffness, DG120 seems to have a softer butt and mid section. I have never tried the DG120, mag need to go on my list

Like Stuart suggest, just bend them stronger, and dont overthink this. What ever a shaft can do with head position at impact, can be done by bending, and many thinks "ohh going 1* stronger on loft means 1* less of bounce", but that will happen with a shaft that deliver 1* less dynamic loft too, since we cant split loft and bounce no matter way we solve this. If ball flight is to high, lower loft by bending if the shafts you play feels right.
