Don't get me wrong, I understand the branding of the cherry dots, but the script in their stead makes this putter so much better.  Great piece.

Na Cantlay is double bend. You can technically buy that putter and put in a double bend shaft and bend lie and loft.

Didn't read page 2 or 3, so maybe it's been said. I had been using a 2009 model until the day I got my hands on the Special Select NP2 in 2020. That's the closest he's made in AGES to the CT's out there. I'd argue they're the best retail release he's ever made and I don't really see any benefit to him updating that line right now. The Special Selects are just so good, I don't think I could see myself "upgrading".

I’m sure numerous on this forum have, but has anyone ever putted with a GSS model Scotty like the Tour guys use, not the store version metal. How different is the feel? I’ve always wondered how different it truly is.

Speaking out of experience,  with tour putters are sightlines, stamps and milling. some slight styling differences but majority are same as off the rack.

Face milling differences or carbon steel make a way bigger difference.

Yep exactly. Feel is sound and sound is feel. Face milling and striking a putt in the middle will make the most massive difference. 
 

I have a Swag Handsome Too with super tight milling and it’s butter. Doubt GSS can get any softer for stainless. My Cameron Studio stainless is soft but clicky due to almost no milling. So it feels firmer but really isn’t. 
 

You want a mind trip? Putt with earplugs in. You’ll be shocked and how soft it feels.

Pretty good indication from the Sony Open today that this will be OTR in March. Which I can say I am very happy about.

Also the fact that he's calling it the X7 as either an ode or a slap in the face to Odyssey #7 is hilarious.

If this is an indication of the new Newport 2, I'm glad I pulled the trigger on a 33" Special Select.

 

1. Don't like the insert.

2. Not crazy about the line on the topline.
