Yea I did. I cleaned the areas with acetone and secured the area where putter head to make the area where paint was being applied level so the paint would settle flat and not run off or pool to a side. Then I used a dropper and put a drop or two in and a thin toothpick to spread it slowly until it barely touches the edges. Patience was the key as I had to do the areas separately and re-adjust the putter head to make sure the surface stayed level/flat during drying.

My X 9 came in. Agree with the others the head cover is hideous. I do like the grip though, any comparable models out there without the theatrics?

Can someone please comment on the side by side size of the 5.5 vs 7.5 at address? Curious if anyone can comment on the 7.5 size and shape vs the odyssey white hot OG 7 too?

You can buy a Special Select Newport 2 off the rack as we speak.  Is there something else you mean?

yea , are they releasing a new version? think last release was 2020 , isnt it usually on a 2 year release pattern? 

 

just want to see if there will be any changes(even if minimal) or potential alternate color before i buy one new or used

Switched from a 5 to a 5.5 and can’t wait to get it. I think my new setup and stroke will work better with the slant neck.

What are the chances that Titleist release carbon heads with script Titleist in black finish without cherry bombs?  If not Titleist where do you recommend sourcing such a putter style?

I'd guess roughly 0%. With Bettinardi switching away in the last year or so I don't think anybody is making OTR carbon heads anymore. 

 

If you want a black finish on a carbon head you should look at the multitude of boutique putter makes out there. Lots of good ones at (relatively) reasonable prices. I'd start by looking at Brandon Matthew, LaJosi, Goodwood and Carbon Putters (yes, that is the name, carbonputters.com) as a few to get started that are custom (or custom-ish) at a (relatively) reasonable price point (or at least reasonable compared to things like Lamb, Mannkrafted, etc.).

Even though scotty is still partners with titleist. He has slowly dropped titleist off his products. Only bet is buying classics

Anyone know the current wait time for scotty's, I'm surprising my dad with one, hoping it doesn't take too long, I would've bought one in stock but I had credit to a store so I had to order through that store, was told 2-4 weeks, been about 1 1/2 weeks, hoping it doesn't take forever.

I was told 8 weeks on the 5.5 35". I ordered from PGASS bent 2* flat. Its been 3-4 weeks so far.

Ordered a studio select Flowback 5.5 at my local fitting center.  They said it would take 3-6 weeks.  I also have it built with a stability shaft and cut down to 32.5 so i'm going to guess itll be closer to 5-6 weeks for me.

I hear you!  Nothing worse than the wait for the club you got fitted for.  If you have no putter you can certainly take advantage of a certain big box store 90 day return policy.  But you didnt hear that from me😅

That’s a limited run, not the new Newport 2 OTR lineup….
