Because there is nothing of particular interest to watch on TV right now I am watching Golf Central for the first time in ages. It is utterly dead-feeling. Granted, there is not much going on given it is the eve of the Sony Open, but Jimmy Roberts is ill-suited to the role of host, his interviewing skills seem to have disappeared, and the presentation is not good. No energy at all.

Going in 2020 is an impressive feat too.  Due to the limited tickets in 2021 the PGA credentials weren't honored.

I totally agree with stinger_gc. " Less commercials and stupid conversations in the booth with CBS/NBC. I think PGA Tour Live and Masters.com has the best coverage because they don't have stupid fluff segments and you just watch golf."
I was an avid fan of the golf channel. I can no longer watch the tournaments because of all the chit-chat. The LPGA has followed suit. It has gotten to the point where it just irks me. Just tell me the distance to the hole, and the club used and maybe some relevant information. Now I just look at the leader board on my phone or computer.

I love when  old threads are revived lol Speaking of the Golf Channel's demise, Michael Breed was so far off his prediction and obviously his "source" didn't pan out. I never really believed what he said anyway, he came off as a bitter ex lover 😂

The Masters has tons of cash and PGA Tour Live isn’t free. There’s going to be tons of commercials on network TV, but at least CBS is managing them better.

Commercials seem rather limited on GC so far in round 1. Credit where it’s due given the incessant complaining about it usually found here.

Embedding The Golf Channel app into NBC app signals the end for me.  Gone is rich content with a golf only focus.  If NBC thinks I’ll shift my focus to their app, they’re grossly mistaken.  Maybe it’s time for a new golf media startup!

💯.  The streaming is worse on NBC.  We need a new Golf Channel

I can only find sparse golf news deep buried in NBC Sports app. BTW, is it even possible to see leaderboard in NBC Sports app? 
 

I’ve a pretty high tolerance for crappy product. But I don’t think there’s much golf contents besides a few news in NBC Sports app. How can this be a replacement?
