Yes nothing wrong with staying in the JLPGA... it's extra tournaments for me to follow/watch... And I love following the culture and that country's intricacies, in general (as we've seen sometimes even in this thread when we digress to other things lol)... Been fascinated by it since I went to tsukuba expo in '86... (No I'm not an adult then yet in 86 :P)

My brother can't really speak Cantonese and self taught himself how to speak Japanese...he hopes to travel/tour Japan once he retires.

My mom thought everything Chinese was the GREATEST....all she wanted to do was go on those cheap China tour vacations...she had been on 4 tours from 2009-2015.....all with her 3 children....but she shilled my sister to tag along on 3 of 4 tours...my brother and I only once each....and cheapo mom signed up for a Mandarin speaking one....so for 2 weeks my sister had NO ONE to chat with on the tour bus....LOL.

Yes, I hope to visit Japan one day.

My white golf friend...his Japanese wife is so subservient....I think Japanese women are the most subservient of the Asian countries.

I spend most of my years working for large US based multi-national companies...but did spend 2 years at a large Japanese multi-national company...what a change in corporate culture....and also quite a hierarchical system

Typo....you mean Expo 85.

Expo 86 was a big success here in Van City....the China explosion here started here in 87 & 97.

Van City is doing the initial research to place a bid for the 2030 Olympics....lead by the Indigenous group(s) /First Nations.

IMO....the 2010 Olympics were a success with minimal interruption to everyday life and some legacy infrastructure builds.

I came from a poor family...dad went bankrupt....Chinese restaurant...we only took one family vacation..... in 1967.

We drove to NYC, Boston and Montreal....Expo 1967....1967 was also a Cdn centennial year.

I remember pushing my little brother in a green 7-Up push buggy,

The Cdn, US & USSR pavilions were the most popular.

Don't worry, I saw you in strollers at Tsukuba Expo!  Cheers!

not THAT young though 🤣... enjoyed my visit to tokyo disneyland thereafter, even if the haunted house was in japanese and i kinda twisted my shoulder/elbow riding the dark space mountain... (is that what it's still called?)... and of course, mt fuji but no jlpga to the golf course then... hinako wasn't born yet 😛

Anyone know the type of irons Ayaka Furue is playing?

Thanks!!

Last season she was playing a Japanese model of the Bridgestone Tour B X-CB irons I believe.

@Argonne69 is the eagle-eye!

those are sweet! haven't seen those before, wonder what happened to bridgestone irons...

They're popular in Japan. They're available in the U.S., but not at the major golf retailers. I was looking at a set of Tour B's before I decided to go with the PXGs.

NSFW....lol.

Although pre-Covid...the iron pricing wasn't too out of line for 2017....ya the driver was expensive for 2017 pricing.

BUT

The prices paled in comparison to Bobby P's 2017 pricing.

Kaboom Baby!

I's worried about it but had a sigh of relief this morning; Hinako Shibuno has officially entered the field of 2022 JTBC Classic at Carlsbad.

JTBC Classic Entries

Hinako is playing HSBC, Honda, and JTBC... 3 straight tournaments... Which one counts for ranking? CME? Eg sponsor invite gets points?

Minami Katsu, Erika Hara and Yuna Nishimura are likely to enter 2022 LPGA Q-Series:

Following Hinako Shibuno and Ayaka Furue! Who is the player who has stated the challenge to the United States?

Yes per my last summary these gals have shown interest, and Erika has been more vocal about playing in the US women's open and competing overseas in her more recent/most recent interview clip I posted here (with short summaries of where/when she said it in the interview video)... Yuna has also leaning towards participating though the US open 2022 (if she qualifies) will give us/me an indicator as to how serious she is. She didn’t play in 2021 despite qualifying… (or was it 2020, I forget now - posted this in an earlier thread here LOL 😆 too late sleepy now  😴)

i shld just keep reposting the summary and add footnotes I guess, but this thread is more interesting if others participate so I won't add the footnotes and let others chime in, haha... Aka too hard to type on my phone to scroll, cut and paste and edit, will update if I'm on a laptop lol.

Added I’m sleepy to check my own thread earlier lol

Stop derailing this thread! Jyk might add herself later, deadline too far away! 😝

what’s important in this thread is that hinako is playing hsbc, Honda and jtbc! (At least this thread I know what’s being discussed - everything Japanese!)

Quit being a Pink Shirt.

Ok...here....Japanese stuff.

I originally thought Hello Kitty was created by The Great People of China...obviously I'm wrong.

spacer.png

Muni and Crazy Lucy Li have become Chinese golf FRAUDSTERS.....so I have to wait til The Zhangster to turn pro to start a Great Women of China golfer thread.

I'm disappointed there's not a lot of LUV shown to the Chinese in the LPGA folder.

We need more LUV and inclusion shown here.

Wasn’t aware of “Zashikibuta” ... more-familiar with “Kurobuta” (black pig?) from the local izakaya 🏮  / yakitori 🍢BBQ restaurant! 🐷😋

From Wikipedia: (ザシキブタ, Zashikibuta) is a pink pig who is sometimes seen wearing a scarf.

Any worry about fatigue with 4 in four weeks, including the travel?

Many players, including Yealimi Noh, have signed up to play all nine tournaments between now and US Women's Open.

There're many one week breaks:

  1.  Between Thailand and Kia
  2.  Between Chevron and Lotte
  3.  Between JTBC Palos Verdes and Cognizant Founders
  4.  Between Cognizant Founders and Match-Play Las Vegas

@Supermilo has already WARNED us only to POST Japanese stuff in this thread...now expect to be punished.

BTW....Crazy Lucy Li is a FAKE Chinese...same nationality as me.

Lucy Li's realistic career opportunity to make money is to be Tim Cook's executive asst and hawk Apple watches.
