Titleist RCT with Mevo Plus

Anybody use the Titleist RCT balls with a Mevo Plus ?

 

Does it eliminate the need for the metallic dots on the balls?? Do you trust the spin numbers?

I'm not sure about the Mevo Plus, but I've been using the RCT balls with my X2. The FlightScope PC software reads the spin just fine - no asterisks and no metallic dots! The spin numbers are very consistent compared to a regular ProV1x and the dots.

I know I’m late, but I inquired with Titleist about this. They said they only tested the balls with Trackman systems so would not attest to the accuracy with other manufacturers. However, it is safe to assume you would get good numbers with other devices.

So i've been following the RCT/Mevo+ news on a golf-sim specific forum and so far the testing has been very good. Spin on drivers is way down but the .19 firmware update is supposed to help resolve that, too. $65 is kinda steep for what i use my Mevo+ for but i'll probably end up getting a box at one point

My thoughts too but then I realized it's a sim golf ball so 1 box will last you a very, very long time.  Might chop it with 3 buddies and everyone uses a sleeve.

$65/box I think is a decent price for sim balls also. You should be set for tens of thousands of swings based on my experience with the durability of other Titleist balls on my simulator. And I don't want to say it's impossible, but it's at least much harder for me to lose them! LOL

$65 is cheap relative to spending 2k on a LM that doesn't give you reliable data

I hit golf balls every day and the dozen will probably last me about 5-6 months at this point. The #s they give are definitely worth the price IMO. Going cheap on a sim just costs you more money in the end is my experience.

I’m one of the few seeing worse results with RCT balls, but I’m optimistic FlightScope will get those dialed in when they make it a ball choice in the app.  I tend to see more “actual” reads that are clearly double spin with RCT than I saw estimated reads that I believed were much closer to reality using dots.

Mine produces fantastic numbers. Maybe you should tweak your setup? Or it could just be your 20 handicap swing 😂

I had a flightscope (Xi+) for 5 years an never once got highly reliable data, largely due to inaccurate spin and spin axis numbers, tweaked the setup a ton (including completely rebuilding my hitting bay once). Was it still a great tool? Yes, it just never worked well enough in my indoor environment, especially considering the price I paid. The RCT balls didn't exist until after I sold it. I now have a quad which captures my 25 handicap swing perfectly, every single time. Literal night and day difference in reliability and accuracy. 220 yard pull slice, 3500 rpm spin, bazinga!

I’m happy with the rct balls and my mevo+ , my only complaint is around 1 in 40-50 shots I’ll get a spin reading that’s twice as much as it should be. Other than that they seem great.
