I’m seeing there is now a 6 flex (tx) does anyone have any experience or input? I went from project x LS to x7 to x100 and wanting to go graphite. Have Mmt in a 3 iron but don’t love it

The 5 flex is plenty stout.  I'm at 118-122 ss with driver and couldn't imagine going any stiffer than the 5 flex.  You'd probably need to be 125+ss for 6 flex IMO.

I have been using them for a couple weeks and absolutely love them. High 130s to low 140s with driver and think they are miles better then anything I've used before(previously used X7 and PX 7.0). Have a much better ability to flight the ball and have lost my issue of overdrawing shots into the wind. Had to add some weight to the head to get them to feel just right but man have they been great.

140’s driver swing speed or ball speed 😉 You pedestrian you!

Last question. Why no 3 iron shaft? Anyone soft stepping a 4 iron shaft into their 3?

I put their hybrid shaft into my 3i.

the A series?  how does it compare to the L series?  I am looking for a 3 iron to build but I currently play the L series.

It's lighter, but similar profile to the L series. My fitter and the folks at LAGP suggested the hybrid shaft for 3i.

Excuse my ignorance, but if a set of the L -5 series is playing 3/4" over standard, would trimming off the extra 3/4" make these play stiffer or less stiff? I hope that makes sense....

Stiffer , but it depends on where trimming would be done of how it would effect the shaft feel.

Taking the club a part and tipping 3/4 it would keep it more inline with the counterbalance profile, but in essence , you're hard stepping 1 and 1/4 times and that would increase the overall CPM stiffness and slightly change the swingweight. It'd feel a little stiffer in the tip and could reduce spin and launch slightly from where it would play at straight in.

Trimming the butt would make them less counter balanced , drop the swingweight 4-5 points on a fulcrum and they'd feel slightly firmer under the hands.

Depends on what you feel is the better option for you in how the feel fits your swing now. Either way is acceptable, one just costs 3x as much if not more.

Thanks for the reply! Which one costs 3 times as much?

Ideally I'd like the tip firmness/feel to feel like straight in

Trimming the tip. Having them uninstalled and reinstalled is a ton more work.

I should've mentioned they are currently out of the heads, and I can re-install them myself. If trimming that extra 3/4" off the butt end wouldn't cause issues, I'd probably lean that way.

I certainly don't want them to play any stiffer since they are already and 5 flex and I need something closer to a 4+

Have you hit the 5 flex in your iron heads? If not , I’d suggest installing one and trying it choked down , before installing them all and butt cutting.
I have played the 5 , they’re not boardy or overly stiff to most.

Good call, you make an excellent suggestion. Thanks again for the info!

I have Cally TCB heads...I'm not sure if they are considered a "heavier" weighted head or not....

You can purchase different weight plates for the TCB's so they're an ideal candidate to build up and change the swingweight if you only butt cut them.

So I reached out to La golf and asked about bend profile. “The said it’s based off of dynamic gold but just counterbalanced.” Would y’all agree? I’m thinking I need to buy a single iron with the shaft before I commit and get away from x100

The same heft isn’t there as X1’s , but I’d have to say it’s a pretty smooth 120 ish X1 if I had to match a profile. I don’t find it to actually be as stout a profile as the 120 X1’s, but close. Did they ask you what swing weight you play in the X1’s?

No the did mention I would have to worry about the counter balance during the build.

They’re more than likely going to swingweight in the higher C range if you did a plug and play with the current heads you have X1’s. Of course those are just numbers that don’t hold water on feel , but keep in mind if you play D3-D4 in your irons you’ll have to bring the la golf shafts up to a low end D range to match your current feel. I use tungsten and and it works , but the overall static weight will be a little heavier. Best suggestion as I gave another member , if you’re going in blind and doing the build yourself , get a mid iron shaft and test before going all in. I was an advocate for wth , just buy them all and go for the gusto. Took some tweeking from what I originally thought would be my outcome , but when I got the SW right , they were money on feel.

Totally different imho. MMT will swing weight more traditional and close to steel, being the MMT are weighted more towards the mid to tip and the LA Golf is counterbalanced. MMT 125 TX spun more for me , but they were in a set of TI double dot raw apexes , which were designed to spin. Don’t have hard numbers but as far as feel , they were night and day different to me. But , I didn’t go directly from MMT to LA Golf so maybe someone can chime in that did.

This is spot on. I had similar results in my fitting, MMT 125's had too much spin.

I’ve been following this thread which led me to swapping out my px lz (115g) to A series 85S in my T100S last year. 105S would’ve been ideal but I got a great price on eBay for the 85S and decided to give em a try. During the build I was told the SW were in in the c7-c9 range. After playing the last 8-10 months, I’ve noticed a drop off in distance and issues playing into the wind. With the PX LZ I’ve felt the ball was coming off hotter in the mid/high launch window. A series I’ve hit a consistent controlled fade as my shot shape and the ball seems to float in the air vs piercing flight. I feel like my three quarter swings and full swings go the same distance which the a series. I am not sure if the smoother lighter combo is causing me to swing slower hence the drop off in distance or the current shot shape. Anyone else I have a similar experience. I understand many of you are playing the L-series but might have dropped weight from previous steel shafts. Thanks!

Anyone used the WV (wedge) shaft? I picked up a Vokey PW for a song with one...having a shootout with my Vokey PW with Modus Wedge 115, and the TI S400. How do you like it if so?
