Aramco LET 2022 - what happened..............?

I know it's not strictly the LPGA but it's the Korda sisters nevertheless. Pretty weird stuff if you watched it.

Someone in the "chat" said "smells of a betting scam this" but I'd like to think that doesn't happen in ladies golf. Much more likely that Jessica just fell to pieces.

That happens..... but this was on an industrial scale. Throw in sibling rivalry, money, and put them in the same group and you have all the ingredients for a neat little family drama. Might take some time for this to settle......

After shooting rounds of 72, 70, and 74, Jessica shot an 81 in the final round at the USWO. It happens. Her final round scoring average isn't fantastic.

That's true - I forgot that. 81 is very inconsistent for a player of her quality. There again, most of the top players have had surprising falls in consistency lately - Ariya, SYK, JYK, SHP...... A bit of a contrast to players like Inbee and Nasa who seem to keep it more or less together.  But it's been a pretty strange last few years all round.

That was me. Saying stuff is one thing, but backing it up with proof is another. Just my natural cynicism slipping out, no point trying to sue either as I'm as poor as a church mouse.

In regard of the "chat", can I just assure everyone here that I 'Blocked' the 'Simon Grove' character three or four tournaments ago, so never see his pathetic contributions unless I don't sign in. Sad that these ladies have to tolerate such disrespect. These inadequates, incels, alt-right nutjobs and perverts embarrass us as men.

I will stipulate for this post that betting issues didn't happen here.

But if someone were to want to make something happen betting wise, this might be just the type of tournament to do it.  When tennis catches a player, it's rarely at the ATP level.  It's usually challenge or lower.  Why?  Because no one is watching.  Given the lack of attention the LET gets, this would be the perfect place to try to make something happen.

The bigger issue would be, the Kordas wouldn't be the first players you would think of to do something like this, though.  They have enough money I would think that they wouldn't get themselves caught up in it.  One would target a player with a lower profile, and more importantly a smaller bank account.

Putting on the conspiracy hat for a moment though, wasn't Jessica's boyfriend(now husband?) one of those caught at the massage parlor/nail salon whatever it was?  Maybe someone has his hooks into him deeper than we think...

Nobody thought the NBA could be corrupted, then you not only had the one ref get caught, but you had others involved as well.  The FBI was using Donaghy to nail other refs involved until the someone, likely the NBA, leaked it so they would not talk to him.  It's a pretty damning story.

Don't think it can't happen in golf.

Yeah, if it can happen to a US Senator, it can happen to anybody!  🙂

First off I don't believe any foul play was involved either, this is Jessica Korda for ya. I must say, it's  easy to see how one could think such a thing. The aging, underachieving sister trying to help the face of the LPGA to get back into that no.1 spot, it makes sense. No dice though, just a really bad round.
