Just a Shout-Out to Callaway Pre-Owned.

 

I have purchased several clubs from Callaway Pre-Owned over the past few years.  I have always been impressed with their fair prices, fast shipping, and accurate condition descriptions.  I usually only buy "Like New" condition and have never been dissapointed.

 

I recently purchased a gap wedge which was listed as Very Good.  So, I was not sure exactly what to expect.  I received a wedge which had obviously never been hit nor had any scratches, dings, etc.  So, other than not being wrapped in plastic, it was new.  

 

Congrats to Callaway Pre-Owned to continue to under promise and over deliver.

I’ve also had good experiences with them.
I recently bought an older fairway wood listed as “average” for an excellent price.  When I received it, it looked like it had been barely used. And they threw in a pretty nice headcover.

I've had some great (better condition than expected) experiences recently, too. Tons of great deals to be had recently with the 20-40% thing they just finished running.

Ive posted several times previously on how good CPO is. My bag is a revolving door of new Callaway items because of CPO - and other manufacturers should take note. They really are the best buy/trade golf club operation on the web. You can get screaming deals on not just Callaway equipment but other brands as well when they do the 20% off like they did this week. I have over 16,000 reward points from all the stuff I've bought in the last few years, for better or for worse 🤣

Agree with all the above. For multiple years I have bought random clubs on there and it seems like they are always better than expected condition wise. Great deals as well!

Eleven out of the 14 clubs in my bag are from CPO.

I bought a hybrid about two weeks ago. Average condition, definitely used, but it looks much better than expected. A few days later, an even bigger sale happened on the site. I sent a ticket requesting a price adjustment (about 10%). Two days later, they initiated a price adjustment no questions asked. 👍

Unfortunately, the condition rating was a wee bit off on my last order. "Like new" Jailbird. Luckily, their customer service is top notch and it should be an easy return/exchange.

How is the trade in process in terms of speed and value?  I got hooked on some of the small to mid size shops like Mike’s Golf Outlet b/c they have higher trade values and bonuses for trade.  It’s also a 3-4 biz day thing whether credit issued or cash.  But I do respect CPO and want to use their trade in service…just always get stuck on the buy now then get the credit later thing (I may have that backwards).

Great value, slow speed. Takes about 10-15 days for a refund to your CC. They dont nickel and dime values and dont 'grade' your clubs when you send them in. Whatever trade in price you see on their website is what you'll get - not less. Tons of online companies will grade your clubs and say oh well this is only $150 instead of the $180 because it has a scratch on the crown, but CPO will never do that. CPO will let you buy what you want and will refund your CC for your trade after purchase and provide free shipping + free trade labels as well. I havent paid for either of those in a long time. I think you might have it backwards in that most other companies will want you to trade-in first and then issue you store credit that you can spend after, whereas CPO lets you buy now and will refund you.

I've ordered 4 'very good' items in the last 60 days. One had some pretty bad spalling from chunked shots and got returned, one was like new but had some slice mark face scratches from being hit once or twice, one had scratches on the crown but was clearance so I kept it, and one was pretty much like new but used with no visual markings. Overall not bad for the price and service they provide being able to switch things out - but when it's a one-off item you just kinda have to deal with it.

Not CPO but Callaway dot com, I was able to put together enough stuff from my closet to nearly pay for a set of Rogue ST Pro irons during the 50% trade in bonus.  Placed the order yesterday, got notification of shipping today and will use their box when it comes to send my stuff in.  So far I'm pretty pleased!

Their trade in bonus program if you actually need something is awesome

I get suckered every year into getting something I don't need though, so maybe it's not so awesome

I've ordered from CPO a few times and had my first bad experience with the rating scale this week. This was "like new"

 

 

It also had some nice scratches and ding on the crown, but my pictures aren't showing those well. The most frustrating part is this was a club I really wanted to try (Apex 21 Pro hybrid with Ventus shaft) for a great price, and they don't have another available to exchange.

I never buy “like new” woods/hybrids from CPO because I have always been disappointed. My expectations are too high and the paint/crowns are too likely to chip that they never look “like new” when they show up. Irons and wedges are much more likely to look new. I honestly don’t even like the term “like new”. I think they should just have “outlet” condition which should look new and “very good.” Would avoid a lot of disappointment and returns.

I wish they would go back to the BOGO deals of years gone by but I’m not holding my breath. Ever since COVID, demand has been high and supply much lower. It seems like manufacturers don’t need to offer the same deep discounts to move merchandise

Theyre doing 20% off sitewide right now, and did so last month as well for a week.

 

I would assume BF will be higher.

Noticed that as well

they do still have some of the tc drivers but they’re not in their own section like you mention.  
really hope that hasn’t gone away for good

I always just searched for “tour certified” in the search bar and way more items showed up than that page they setup because they have to manually add things to it and searching always showed more:

Old thread, but thought this might help someone.

 

Thought I would pass my recent experience along with Callaway Pre-Owned. I purchased a Like New Paradym 3 wood, and I would rate the club I received as good, maybe 7/10. The club has a dirty Demo grip, and while the face and sole were fine, the top was marked up pretty bad and not something I wanted to look down at, and certainly not what I paid for. I called CPO, and the rep was cordial and processed the exchange without any hassle, he told me they would send another club right away.  I received the club in four days, it was even better than expected 10/10, it appears new, the head is still in plastic and has a new grip. They provided a return shipping label and all I had to do was drop the old club off at the local UPS store. Kudos to Callaway Pre Owned for making this right.

 

Moral of the story, if it’s not as expected, don’t fret, just call CPO for a free exchange.
