Pxg drivers... Yay or nay ?

I recently purchased the Gen 4 0811X in 9* with the AV Raw White X-stiff tipped 1/2 inch playing at 45 inches. I believe my Ping G410 plus days are numbered.

The PXG website. I had my first round with my new PXG 0811 XF Gen 4 today. Its a dream. I love it. Hit 10 of 14 fairways today.

Can anyone talk about face angle on gen 4 and gen 5 models.

 

I have g425 max and struggle with the face angle even in the -1.5 setting looking closed.

 

I had a X+ Proto and that sat as I liked and shouldn't have got rid of it.

 

If these are more open I think I'd be keen to change.

This is where im at also. Irons, wedges, and hybrids are great. Driver and fairways have actually performed worse for me compared to most

 

I hit the TSR3 before going to PXG in Oakbrook for a fitting. The very first ball I hit with TSR3 was faster than anything I hit with Gen5 driver all day. TSR3 averaged 167 ball speed and Gen5 averaged 163.

I was a pxg hater.  Tried the gen 5 woods because of the sale in August and 60 day return.  I've been impressed.  As good as any of the latest offerings from Callaway, TaylorMade,or Titleist.  Looks awesome!  Great customer service.

I bought the Gen 5 0311XF driver in August, sucked in by the sale.  It's the only PXG club I've ever owned.  So far, it's been great.  Very pleased with the quality and with the performance.  I was waiting for the TSRs to come out but at $299 I caved.  Glad I did.

I really like my Gen 5 a lot. I don’t switch drivers often, and had settled into a Titleist TS3 that I thought was a really nice fit. The PXG is longer, more “anti-left,” and sounds/feels better. I was pretty smitten right out of the box. I’ve not hit anything better. For the price, it is really hard to beat.

Has anyone had any luck finding these still? I know some people say the titleist website but I’ve had absolutely no luck. And I’ve even signed up to be notified when they come back in stock

Weights: H10, T12.5, B2.5 
Shaft: HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 70 - 6.0
Length: 44 3/4… (want to say -.25 cut, but functionally -.75, something weird about Specs listed and reality/ shaft) 
Grip: PXG Z5 - Midsize 

 

Accuracy/ MOI was my #1 objective. I’ve only had it 6 weeks… continue to get longer and more accurate. Cut it down a bit and went heavy in toe, on order. Only adjustable tweak so far is taking it to 10deg, 9 was a piercing power fade but w/ the weighting… couldn’t turn left to save my life (which was fine, “big hook” is what I was looking to kill). At $299, am very happy. Plan to buy more weights… range w/ it in a few variations to find best control and distance, on versatile  workability. I also find the Gen5 0311 to be near perfect on looks at address. 
 

Think I may hit some other drivers further. But I’ll take -10 on carry for +10% on target. -10 is likely more a f(x) of my build/ intent than the club, and as stated… carry is still noticeably climbing, as comfort increases. 
 

Also just joined what I believe is a Top 5 course in FL for length, so I’ve got to have 270 there vs. 240-250 being the mark of satisfaction elsewhere.

I was buying some irons a few months ago and the fitter asked me if I wanted a gen5 driver for $12 under the lucky 7 deal. 

 

They built me one to 43.5" without hotmelt using the heavier screw weights. I love it! Fairway finding machine and feels /sounds wonderful!
