Titleist TSR Mini Driver Coming Out?

Any one know anything about this club?  Scott Fawcett mentioned Will Zalatoris had a prototype Titleist mini driver he was trying out.  Would be very interested in any and all details.

Is it possible he was talking about the TSR2+ Fwy? It would be pretty cool to see Titleist to come out with a mini driver though.

No mini driver.  Will was testing the TSR2+ fairway wood in hopes to use it at Augusta.

Zalatoris has been using the 2+ afaik. Mini driver doesn’t sound like something Titleist would pursue.

They definitely won't do it, but I'd shell out for a 260cc 975D throwback built with modern technology.

Interesting that the PGA C List had it at 14.5* but retail is only in 13*. If i was in the market I would go with retail and set it at 12.25*. I wonder if FTUO will have more loft options for the Pros?

No, I believe this is something completely separate from the TsR2+. 

There was mention of it somewhere in the larger TSR thread, unless it got removed. Was something along the lines of it dropping in the new year. Don’t quote me though.

That would be amazing for sure.  I just heard this information from at least 3 different podcasts where the VP of metalwoods and head of tour at Titleist came on and told the same story about Will testing it.

I wonder what the loft would be on the retail if you measured it. I am guessing it is closer to the 14..

Tolerances seem to have come a long way here recently. Had my M5 5w measured a few months back, it was a little difficult with the twist face but it was spec at 19.2*

I’ve measured 2 of them and they were 13.1 and 13.3

 

on the flip side I’ve measured 5 TSR3 15* heads and at standard they measured between 13.5 and 14.3 was the highest.

That's one way to design the 3 to launch and spin a little lower than the 2....

Update I just found one that is 14.8 at standard A1, still a little strong but the variance is pretty standard or even better than most OEM's

The Titleist club is the TSR2+.  It was released on September 23, along with the other TSAr clubs.  However, Titleist underestimated the demand for the TSR2+ and it has become hard to find for now.  The Titleist website now says it will be back in stock by mid-November.

What are you playing it at -- 13 degrees or something else?  I'm assuming you use it for more than just off the tee since you go hybrids after, correct?

Does anyone know if the TSR2+ is coming to retail in 14.5 Degrees? I didn't pull the trigger on the 13 Deg because it was just too one dimensional for me. 14.5 Deg would be perfect!

Only comes in 13.0 degrees.  But it can be set at 13.75 and 14.5 degrees by the Surefit hosel

There was only one in the local PGA Tour Superstore that I purchased yesterday.  I was really torn on whether to get it, but maybe that was a good move as I didn’t know it would be hard to find.

From what I was told, the Golf Galaxy where we got ours only had four or five.  And the supply has not been replenished yet.

I play it at 13.75. Great second driver and no problem off the turf (at least no more than any other 3 wood).
