I’m trying to decide which one of these heads I want to upgrade the shaft on the G4 30 LST very forgiving probably a little more maximum potential with the TSR three

I always found Ping heads on the heavy side but found a great deal on a LST and swapped out the weight so that head weight (without the adapter) is 195g. Totally changed the head for me and getting ball speeds in line with the Paradym TD that I played for most of last year.

TD was longer on perfect strikes, but LST hangs well with the TD as it is much more forgiving.

I played g430 LST at the beginning of last season and also put a lighter back weight in it. I think the head weight was around 200 with the lighter weight and 205 with the stock weight. With the lighter head weight it was just as fast as any driver out there. It’s actually the first driver I topped 170 ball speed with. It ultimately was a bit too low spin for me though.

For a player with consistent center hit strikes I don’t think you can beat the TSR3’s performance. Although the G430 is a great driver for those who need that forgiveness.

I think this statement is true if you are a 10+ handicap or just a bad ball striker in general. I say that because what I think off-center is and what a worse golfer thinks off-center is, are going to be different.  If someone struggles that badly, they should not be in an LS head anyway.  There is no difference between these drivers in slightly off-center hits in regards to dispersion.  I do think the Ping is better for someone who doesn't hit up on the ball though.  A0A being positive, the TSR3 is a MONSTER! It has a big advantage over 430 LST.  I didn't realize how much until I got more playing time with TSR3 just recently.

Both clubs are more accurate (tighter dispersion) than TD or LS heads by competitors, but there is NO QUESTION which club is longer and faster if your AoA is positive and you are hitting anywhere close to center.  Longest drives of my life have all been recently, after putting T1100 Hulk into TSR3, and I do not miss my 430 LST at all

Thinking Think GIF by Rodney Dangerfield

He is referring to the magic

number AoA 13° folks. (Given you have some good club head speed)

A lot of people struggle with dynamic loft.

You have got to love playing with someone who hits low laser chasers off the tee because they literally cannot “hit up” on the ball. The game is unique and for that reason we love it.

I find the TSR3 to be workable both ways and extremely hot off the face. Highest ball speed I’ve recorded 172.

Hitting it off the toe always produces a slight tumbling draw that rarely over hooks. Great for dog legs and wind from left to right being a RH player.

Best penetrating driver I’ve seen thus far and runner up I would have to give it to the TD.

Either way you must find it…even if it’s in the woods..and then you must hit it again.

I am 3-4 degrees up and tried both drivers but the LST was better for me. I came from a TSi3 and In stock configuration, TSR was better, but once we lowered the back weight on the LST to get them equal weights, LST started to separate on dispersion pattern while keeping equal ball speed (169-172). LST spin retention was better as well. TSR3 spin could drop sub 2K, while LST stayed 21-2400 on most shots. TSR3 is still a great driver, and the TSR2 was really good too. LST just performed better, even though I preferred the look and feel of the TSRs.

You just listed four synonyms for one thing 😉 but I agree with you that forgiveness is a win for Ping.

LOL ..kinda I guess, does forgiveness give you consistency yes. Does the consistency give you confidence yes. Does the forgiveness also give accuracy yes.

I love the TSR3 and it was longer than the ping and looks/sounds fantastic, until I started adjusting the Ping and I'm not even in the LST head.

I use a 9* Max, and after I lofted it down and put in a lighter weight to get the swingweight down to "normal" I can hit it as far as the TSR3 and more accurately. I'm a half decent ballstriking scratch player and I don't NEED the Ping....but a point and shoot weapon off the tee makes life much easier for this weekend warrior 😃

I have played two drivers at certain times (once carried a Ping 410+ and Ping 410 LST) and would be tempted to do that with these two drivers (TSR/G430), but right now the TSR2+ 14.5 is serving that fairway-finder function for me.
