OK, she's probably crossed the line more than a few times, but nobody expects her to be an angel out there.

...

I disagree.  Maybe someday the LPGA can bring out the thugs of the NBA and NFL?  But hey, what do we care they can smoke a drive 400 yards and hit 80% of the greens?

For some reason, fans gives athletes passes left and right for inexcusable behaviour.  At the end of the day, these people mold society (kids in particular) and collectively we get what we praise or tolerate.

And this says nothing about her or any player's ability as an athlete.  In that regard, there is much to respect as it relates to pure skill, hard work and determination, dealing with losses/failure, and performing under pressure.  And many top notch athletes are good people too.

Entertainment is entertainment and everyone can have a different view..

I don't miss him at..  Very opinionated and childish.. He would post 10-20 times per day responding to himself..

Back to the topic..

I like DK..  I think it will an adventure to be her caddie..  I bet the money is better than most of other players..

I thought she was canoodling with Maverick McNealy?  Is that over?

While I don't know that I would put Kang in the category of hot, she does bring to mind the phrase, "no matter how hot she is, someone somewhere is sick of her s(*t."

Cautionary tale and all.

Yes... a few years back.  The word deplorable comes to mind.

Which one was deplorable? The rich kid or the spoiled one

She wasn't a rich kid, and she's pretty level-headed.  McNealy, on the other hand, is something else.

Big fan of DK. Watched her win back to back USWA titles, and was mightily impressed. It was sad to see her struggle early in her professional career, but I was super happy when she turned it around.

Is she going to win the Ms Congeniality Award? Not anytime soon. However, she's entertaining, and more than just a steaming grump on the course. She wears her emotions on her sleeve. She smiles. She laughs. She swears. Funny, I do the same playing this crazy game. OK, she's probably crossed the line more than a few times, but nobody expects her to be an angel out there.

No idea what happened with Ollie. Definitely thought they worked well together, but that's the life of a professional caddie. Don't forget that Lydia is a complete darling, and yet went through more than her fair share of caddies. I've never held that against her. Her career. Her decision.

In non caddy news, it appears DK has left Butch and is back with Brady after their split many years ago. He coached her as a junior through her B2B US Am titles.

There's definitely something more important that I should be doing.

Well I don't know how long ago this happened. But she has been all over the place lately. If it wasn't for her short game she wouldn't stand a chance of making a cut.

We'll see what happens, I hope she gets better because she is one of the ones I like watching. Seems like most pro's who leave Butch take a turn for the worse then end up going back.

Butch is cutting back his schedule and player commitments substantially.  Not sure if that is the reason for this change, but he has scaled back a lot.  Pretty sure he turns 80 soon.  He's earned it.

Didn't DK go to Butch after she won the PGA in 2017?

I know she continued playing well and even won the Vare in 2020 but I never really associate Butch with her "good" play. Are my dates off? When did Kang and Butch start working together?

From what I understand, it seems that Kang's driver has always been her Achilles heel. She reported "driver yips" back in 2018. Judging by her swing and her results she looks pretty lost with it again.

Funny that Kang is sort of positioned as being the perfect combination of a lot of things in women's golf. She was born in SF so she's fully American, especially by way of her personality. Yet both her parents are from South Korea. And as best I can tell, she speaks both languages pretty fluently. She seems to have no problem conversing in Korean with some of the less English-fluent players or in casual rounds with Korean friends. And then you think about her winning the 2017 Women's PGA and the 2020 Vare Trophy. Those are big-time achievements and they obviously came 3 years apart.

Titleist has always stood behind her as a sponsor and yet she doesn't come off as appealing as so many of the top players. Lydia and Nelly seem to be pretty beloved. Lexi will always have her fans as well. And while many of the other top players like Minjee and JYK are pretty stoic and come off as more "graceful" that's not exactly the impression you get watching Kang.

Her swing's not quite "beautiful." Her anxiety is pretty evident. Those can be really off-putting to a viewing audience at home. She certainly isn't the longest of players either. She seems to be a solid ball-striker who has a ton of confidence on the green. In that way she's something of a Jordan Spieth type.

It's funny, I don't root for either of those players as much as I do others but I do find myself almost pulling for them in a kind of underdog way these days. Both come off as kind of smug and arrogant when winning. It's almost as though the only way you can like them is if they fall behind a bit. Weird.

.

pretty sure while her father (deceased) was definitely Korean, her mother is not

I like DK, but when she’s not happy about something her face changes into something terrifying . Would absolutely be hard work as a caddy / bf

Catching up on DVR’d golf and did notice that Brad Beecher (Inbee’s usual caddie) is on Minjee’s bag this week.  Don’t know if the Minjee-Beecher pairing is long-term, but the broadcasters definitely seemed to imply that it might be.
