Cart Mitts or Hand Warmer?

Thinking about grabbing a pair of cart mitts or a football style hand warmer sleeve that goes around the waist. Wanted to see what others like to use? If you've used both was there anything you did/didn't like about one or the other? I would think the cart mitts would be warmer, but could also see it being annoying to take on and off for every shot. Similarly, I could see the hand warmer sleeve being convenient to just slip your hands in, but not as warm?

Probably more personal preference than anything else. 

 

The waist style hand warmer works great in my opinion especially if you throw one or two of those "hand warmer" packs in with it. The downside is that it can be awkward having to turn it around to your backside every time you hit a shot. If you're someone who is bothered by the slightest difference in feeling when you swing then you're probably better off with gloves that you remove and set aside while swinging.

If you walk and carry I can see how the belt type may be more convenient. Otherwise I would go with the cart mitts.

With my push cart, I use the Clicgear Mitts. If you are carrying, I would go the the belt style hand warmer + hand warmer (either rechargeable, or heating pack). Riding, cart mitts might be a better option.

Cart mitts work fine, especially with a little hand warmer or two in them. This year though, I'm ponying up for one of these, it was next level when I tried it! The warmth is so much more than you get from anything else!

Have you used one before? Would it be that much different than just using those rechargeable hand warmers and putting it in the zippered pouch that a lot of the football style waist sleeves have?

Seconded, they're great. I know earlier runs they had issues with battery life but it seems pretty solid now. Great for cold golf, walking the dog, hunting, whatever. I also know the owner so its nice to see the brand grow and be practical.

I use both.I just put the warmer inside the mitten and alternate hands.Just make sure the warmer does not fall out when you take off the mitten.

My hand warmer is powered by battery and charged by usb.

Yes these are better! I would say the hand warmer option is good, these are great!

Cart mitts on my Clicgear with handwarmers inside work great when it gets colder.  A couple of handwarmers in your pockets adds to the comfort as well.

I looked at these now and they have my interest. Their site says they work on any push cart...I've got a Sun Mountain and I'm curious if anyone else here uses these on a non-Clicgear push cart and can comment on how well they fit on the handle.

Mitts are fine but it gets old putting them on and removing them repeatedly during the round. So I guess I would lean towards hand warmers or just wear a pair of golf winter golfs on both hands.

I use my snowboard mitts and they are very easy to put on and take off...

The FJ mitts have a velcro pocket on the top where you can put a hand warmer. I usually don't play when it's cold enough to need them but I picked up a pair this year and they are nice.

The G-Tech is incredible.

 

Bought one last year and I use it constantly.

 

I recommend purchasing a second battery however.

 

Although the battery will easily make it thru eighteen holes on the medium setting (which is plenty warm in my opinion) there have been a few times that I forgot to recharge after playing or forgot to turn it off and depleted the battery.

 

Having a spare removes the risk of being left out in the cold.

The little grab bar shaped heating element inside the pouch is perfect for warming your hands quickly and evenly.

Hand warmer if you're walking. It's too annoying to take the mitts on and off all of the time. If it's windy they blow off your bag, etc. I don't really like gloves in the cart for the same reason, tbh, but at least there it's easier to keep up with them. Unless it's really cold I'll wear a vest or jacket with hand warmer pockets, put two pouches in each pocket, and keep my hands in my pockets most of the day.

 

I'd also note that cart mitts are often just mitts. If you live somewhere cold you may already have something suitable.

 

The clicgear mitts look perfect though. One day when I move to a pushcart I'm definitely buying those. Those are a great idea.

I walk and currently use the midweight black FJ wintersof gloves.

I keep one or two of the hothands warmers in each pocket. depends on weather.

once the bag is on my shoulders, my hands are in my pockets.
