Oh for crying out loud. Not another celebration this week, and my gosh it's not even Super Bowl Sunday yet. I am old. I can't drink 'em up like that anymore. This isn't the 80's in D.C.  LP. 

 

 

The Lounge turned one week old on Wednesday.

 

A few years ago today I started on my Golf WRX journey. Wow I have been enjoying this place for a very long time. I have had a blast. 😊

The Eagles are overwhelming favorites in all the polls of “experts”. This ESPN one of betting analysts, writers, reporters, players, I saw had 45 votes for the Eagles and 26 for the Chiefs. And the pro-Eagles prediction definitely averaged 4 points or more. 
 

I guess it’s just how the money flows but it seems like a lot more money would be being bet on the Eagles and the line would move. Isn’t that how it works?

 

I don’t know, I don’t bet on football since that Oilers Chiefs playoff game where my friend was all “Buddy Ryan is gonna kill Montana” and, of course, like first play, Montana throws a TD and the receiver runs though the endzone throws the ball right at Buddy Ryan’s giant face on this huge banner an Oilers fan had hanging 🤣

 

Think I lost like 4 hundy! Was begging for beer money for a while there!

i’m seeing the public heavy on the chiefs as slight dogs. (i’ve seen 57-64% of bets on the chiefs depending on what site your read) 

 

thing is, the public is absolutely horrible at picking sides.  they’re 121-149-8 on the seasons against the spread and 4-8 in the playoffs this year. 

 

that’s what’s keeping the spread so tight. 

 

i haven’t seen the figures for where the money is on this game, but usually if there’s a big disparity between the percentage of bets and the percentage of money, that means the people who make their living gambling on sports know something that the public doesn’t know. 

 

for instance, if 60% of the bets are on the eagles, but only 35% of the money is on them, that means that a smaller number of huge bets have been placed on the chiefs. in those cases, it’s usually smart to back the money.

... This has been the most insane NFL season I can remember. So many upsets all season long. I think this game is no exception as the Eagles are just a better all round team but Mahomes is the great equalizer. I can't tell you how many times the Bears just owned the Packers for most of the game only to see Rodgers fit a 45 yd pass into a 2 foot window and win the game. Last year he did it twice in the 4th qt to pull out a win when everyone was already celebrating a Bears win.

... Mahomes is better than Rodgers. With two weeks to plan Reid will have a game plan that the Eagles won't see coming, although my guess is they have planned for any and everything. I loved all my years in radio but living in Philly sucked and so did the fans so I just can't pull for them. I do think the ole "anyone can win" is true for the game but the Eagles could win easily while the Chiefs will have to grind out a victory and need some help to do so. Betting is a killer because if I pick the Eagles and they lose it will be a kick in the nuts but if I pick KC and they lose my brain will tell my heart WTF were you thinking?

Hadwin was the man to give the raucous faithful their last chance at glory as the hole was unbothered for most of the day given the tucked pin location. Stepping up and hitting his tee shot to tap-in distance, the Canadian sent the locals into a frenzy. Beers rained from above as the Scottsdale, Arizona, transplant nearly converted an ace on the last full swing of the day.

It's been a great week in Scottsdale so far at the Waste Management. 

 

As a big fan of both for many years it is great to see Rickie and Jason Day playing pretty consistently early this season. Both are currently T6.

Nowhere really special. Most memorable meal was when I beat the burger/fries challenge at the We-Ko-Pa casino resort sports bar.You know the kinda deal you finish it all you win a prize kinda thing. Haha. Believe it was a 2lb patty burger 🍔 and a pound of fries 🍟

If you have to fill that back side and running back thighs of yours I guess that mountain of food would do the trick.  Burger looks fantastic. Brioche buns so rock. Look at all that thick bacon goodness. And what is that big fat fried chicken breast in the background? Did you get some of that? Better have had some pickles.

Yeah, all the planning may go out the window on game day and the “fog of war” sets in. 
 

The most straight forward predictions make sense. Eagles control the line, run the ball, control the clock, play great D, win a grinding game as many championship games tend to “tighten” up with less risky plays/not wanting turnovers.

 

But

 

Mahomie don’t play that! Lol, guy is a spaceman and good planning could work the injury, or *perception of how bad the injury is, into some surprises. And Mahomes may be more patient/less inclined to immediately improv. 
 

Eagles haven’t faced anywhere near an elite QB as Mahomes this year. 
 

As far as my allegiances, I have none in this game. Being from NY, I like the Eagles about as much as the Cowboys 🤣 But something makes me root a bit more for good old NFC East football. Just hoping for a great game.
