I cannot tell a lie, of my own doing and my own eating.

Next time the A's lose I'll invite you up for a comforting and life-celebrating breakfast. Oh, wait a minute, that's today.  Never mind.

Thank you for your compliment.

I was just trying to put a hex on them so they will start to win and climb higher in their secure last place standing.

What was the allure for you guys when you started to golf?

... Golf in the 50/60's and much of the 70's was overweight rich guys in shiny, hot polyester pants and shirts with a cig hanging out of their mouth. Plus it looked soooooo easy. NONE of that was alluring for me so I never paid any attention to golf til I was in my 30's. I was invited to play in a Chicago Bears Charity Outing and Bears players would rotate into every group so I was all in. You know for the charity.

... Borrowed some Persimmon woods, Wilson MB's and an 8802 with some balata balls. Made par on the first hole. Then made par on the 2nd and thought the game was just as easy as I thought. Easy dumb game. Decided to hit a "bigger" drive on the 3rd hole and hit a 100 yd slice into the woods. Hmmmm. Easy enough to fix and I intrinsically knew if I wanted to hit to left field I just need to rotate my hands a little more. Hooked the ball a good 50 yds and deep into the woods. The rest of the round was a real struggle and I was hooked. Been playing with a vengeance ever since.

Today was a crappy day.  Got up and my new knee pain wasn’t better, if fact was probably worse, go to the doctor, then the ER, no real answers, except I believe all of this started right after the back injections, so that experience is over for now.

... When I was a DJ I interviewed John Malkovich and Gary Sinise and they had just started Steppenwolf Theater after watching their production of Mice And Men. I had only seen dinner theater and musical theater (I really don't like musicals at all) and was blown away by real theater. I told them I would have taken up acting if I knew. They told me John Mahoney had just quite his job and joined them, I think in his 50's at the time and I should take classes and start acting.

... So I did and we were doing technique the first year and wouldn't even get to a script til the 2nd year. Teacher told us to audition for local theater even though we would never be cast but by the time we had the skills to act, we would be used to the audition process and have a head start own others. In my first audition I was cast in a small role. Teacher was mad but said since it was a small role I could do it but I was not to audition again for another 1.5 years when I would have "acting skills". After 1 week of rehearsal the lead actor got in an argument with the director and quit. So the director had another audition and asked me to take part. He cast me in the lead. My teacher was furious and said I absolutely could not take the role since it spanned 20 years and involved someone that had spent time in an insane asylum and was an alcoholic. I took it anyway and was kicked out of the class.

... My very first audition, my very first play and I was awarded the Joseph Jefferson for Best Performance in '82 (comparable to NYC's Obie). Several agents asked me to sign and I chose one and I have been acting ever since. So humbly I think I would indeed act circles around Larry TCG.

Nothing on the side except a double mocha. I typically eat light for breakfast with enough protein to hold me in good stead on the course.

Since I got on my diet kick I have been doing those protein milkshakes for breakfast then play golf and come home and eat then piddle around the shop or the yard. Between diet and golf I have dropped the 8 lbs my Doc was raising sand about the last 2 weeks

Seriously it very well could have. About a year ago I thought my right knee was going out. They did tests and determined I had no structural issues with the knee itself but it was caused by the screwed up nerves in my back.

The doctors don’t think the shots contributed to the knee, but I have never had knee issues, and the X ray showed nothing and knee is structurally perfect.  Plus I felt worse afterwards.  Maybe I am allergic to the medicine and didn’t know I was.  At this point, I just want get back to where I was in Mid March, cause I started working out again and pain was minor, but manageable.

your knee is a symptom joint. so, short of an acute injury, the issue causing your pain is either upstream from the knee or downstream.

there’s more that can go wrong upstream. the most likely culprits are right muscles through your quads, hip girdle, or lower back. it band is another good bet.

I hear you.

3 low back fractures, extremely narrow spinal canal and a minor curvature of the spine are my problems, the 6 shots I got at end of March, is the only variable that has changed in 7 years.  There was no other trauma, in fact I have basically done nothing, outside of 1 range session and cutting the grass and the pain was there before those 2 things.  Hopefully the antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs over the next 10 days takes care of it.

wow, with that much going on with your back, the fact that you haven’t had knee pain before is more surprising to me than the fact that you have it now.

best of luck with the meds. hope you feel better soon.

We had close to the same weather here in the Triangle but you might have had a few more clouds!

Walked 18 with Mrs NCL and had a 48/47=95.  Played mixed tees at about 5750 yards, 10-14 fwys hit, 2 balls in the water, and 42 putts which sounds high but...

We were quite surprised when we reached the 1st green and saw they had very recently aerated.  Small punches but they did a terrible job of blowing off the greens.  Leftover debris was everywhere and for many putts it was hit and hope.  No mention made in the proshop at check-in and obviously no discounted greens fees.

A nice walk with great weather and pleasant company (who put on a driving clinic with 13-14  fairways) made for a fine afternoon.  Except for the greens...

.... I took some pictures for the Lounge today. Several on the tee box to show how beautiful the green and yellow trees and plantlike is right now. Normally this time of year it is a barren brown dust bowl. It is also amazing how much elevation this course has and it almost seems flat in pictures. The last picture is the tee s*** on the 18th the box and it is 426yds uphill a good 80 feet or more and levels out around 250. Then flat for 50yds or so and back downhill about 60 feet to the green. Very tough but very fair finishing hole. Par is a great score and a birdie is rare but very satisfying.

LOL every picture is turned upside down by WRX. Anyone know a fix?

I portrayed Holly berry #2 in our 5th grade Christmas pageant.  I do not recall winning any awards but the nuns were pleased with my performance.  In a non-verbal role, it was said by some that I actually became that berry...I'm not sure our cafeteria stage ever saw better work.
