I love the Ventus red in my fairway woods. This is after 1.5 seasons playing with Ventus Blue. The red works MUCH better for me. I prefer the stiffer handle. I have a lot more control with the red than the blue. The red gives me a good launch number, but it doesn't produce super high spin for me, which is my general tendency.

I have the Ventus 7x (original version) in a TSR2+ 13.0 (tipped 1/2 inch) and in the TSR2 16.5 (tipped 1 inch). Very happy with this and just ordered the Red TR 6x for driver.

In the same ballpark, I’m working with an Atmos Tour Spec Red in my 3w versus a Black/low launch profile in my driver. Atmos Red has a stiff handle, active tip still. Easy to launch and flies high.

Limited testing with Black profile did not work in my 3 wood. If I had the $$ to upgrade to Ventus, I’d likely look to go Black in driver and Red in 3w. I definitely think that combo suits a player who uses black in a teed up driver and red in a 3w off the deck, primarily.

I just got a red in my fairway and have black in the driver an think it's a great combo.  I find the red has a better feel and flight for me then blue for fairway woods.  I liked the blue but I think the handle just wasn't for me.  I would be interested in trying a tr purple for driver compared to black.

I played Red TR in my 3 wood since its release. Easily one of my favorite fairway shafts I have played. Has great feel and stability in my opinion.

Just had a fitting at True Spec.

Fitted for Ventus TR Red in driver, 3W & 7W.

I previously played the Atmos Red Tour Spec. The fitter said the TR Red is the current version.

Showed the best results.

Can't wait to take them on the course.

Mind sharing a little about your swing?

Not TR but I have "2" Fujikura Ventus Velocore Red Series, 6 "S" in 3 wood and 7 series in storage.  Also switched back to Fujikura Ventus Velocore Red 5 Series 59g, "S" in driver.   Possibly getting a Ventus Velocore Black TR 5 Series soon.

As I experience TR tips (Red & Blue), they are a bit more stout than the original version tips, I have.

Would say TR is stiffer all the way. Not by a lot, but does feel more stable. Here's links as it might just be easier to compare the specs of whatever you're looking at yourself.

Just recently switched from a plain Ventus Red (Velo obviously) to a TR Red in my 5 wood and have loved it.  Plenty of launch and spin retained with a straighter flight than I saw with the standard.  If you play a natural draw with a hook miss the standard can be tough at times but with the TR I don't have to feel like I'm holding the face open to keep the ball flight straight.

Stiffer in the mid-section. More or less the same tip and butt.

I have almost certainly going to get a Ventus TR Red 8 X for my recently acquired Titleist TSR2+, I would normally gravitate towards the Black and TR Black but the specs on the TR Red 8 X suggest it is has a much stouter profile and a different animal from all the other Reds and TR Reds so I may just take a chance and buy blind, I would be very interested to hear the thoughts of anyone who has hit the Red TR 8 X.

Have non-TR in my fairway and love it. Shaft has that wonderful quality of firming up the harder you go at it. I feel like I need to tip a 1/2" beyond trimming guide as I'm blocking it just a bit, but that could also be due to heavier ping head. No matter it's a great shaft, i wouldn't want blue (too loose in butt) or black (too low a launch). This has a nice full feeling to it already, and I'm really amazed at times how long and flat the ball flight can be.

Im considering doing exactly this as well.  Curious to hear your thoughts once you try it. I’ve got a black 8x tipped 1.5” in my TSI2 15 but think of doing a TR Red 8X tipped 1” in a 13+

I have one (7X) in my TSR2 3 wood and its fantastic.   Last weekend I hit one into a oar 5 from 252 up hill, around a corner to the back side if the green.  Best fairway shot I’ve hit in some time.  Its easy to elevate and feels great.

That is very interesting because I have previously played the Ventus Black 8 X in my 3 wood too while I currently have the Ventus HB Black 10 TX in both a hybrid and 2 iron, I heard the TSR+ is also coming out in 14.5 degrees but don't whether there is any truth there.

14.5 would be fantastic to open the club face and drop it back down to 13.75

Haven't hit the 8X, but have hit black tr 6X in driver and red tr 7X in 3 wood. Red feels plenty stout to me. Play an OG red 8TX in 5 wood and that one is good as well. Can't definitely feel the handle kick in the blue tr, but don't get that in the red tr at all. Can't see myself going black in fairways anytime soon unless is exclusively a tee club/mini driver type of deal.

Why would you not go Tr in both?

OG Red in the 5W should launch higher, spin more, and that means it'll stop faster. Will be a really good option as an approach club into longer holes.

I've hit the Red TR 7x tipped 0.5" and OG red 7X tipped ~1 inch for 3 wood and OG 8TX tipped 0.5" in 5 wood and can't say there's a significant difference in feel between them all for me. Would say the TR red prob feels a little stiffer than the OG 7X off the top of my mind. Can try to pay more attention next time I hit them. There is a weight difference between OG and TR, especially the 7X. If I ever get on trackman I can report numbers.

I have the 7x TR Red in my Stealth 2+ 3w and 5w.  Moved the weight all the way forward for lower launch and spin but the TR red adds just enough spin and launch to be very good of the ground.  Best option to date in any fairway I've tried this year.  I have 2 more TR reds coming for my TSR 3w and 5w to test out.

I swing the Black TR 6X in my TSR3 and love it, did the same as you and ordered a Red TR 8X to throw in my TSR2 15Deg... Hope it works out.
