Who is making the next closet thing to a DH89 head?

I saw these in person for the first time yesterday. Man do they seem like an afterthought on Taylormade's part. Simple milled putter with next to nothing that stands out.

I appreciate that they went with slant necks on the 13/29.  And the milling marks on the shoulders are a nice touch too.

to me, this looks like the generic newport style head a bunch of guys use, Kingston, etc...  shoulders are too sharp and don't slope like the 009 or DH89, the heel end is too rounded as well and doesnt slope down.  lastly the Piretti logo is just so unattractive it would ruin the whole putter for me.

Wow, I guess you don't care for Piretti.  Do you have a DH89?  I do, and the main difference is the face thickness between the two with the Piretti having a thicker cavity with less milled out. The Topline height and bumpers are nearly the same size and height.  It's nothing like the Kingston, Carbon and others.

An 009 would be very close 😁. Piretti has a new 801T design (not the 801R) that is strikingly similar. The shoulders slope more like an 89 and the top line is flat. The DH89 often had a bit more width on the top line than an 009 unless you did some mods to it. Here are some photos of the new 801T and an 009 thrown in for good measure too. The 009 has a misted finish while the 801T is more of a brushed finish that is a bit more shiny.

I would say Goodwood G7 is fairly similar to the DH89..

As someone who has had an 009 and still have a couple of 89’s, Piretti potenza, TP Mills/David Mills Dale I prefer the looks and feel of the Dale above the rest. The Carbon DH89 gets a close second.

I love flowneck putters and have tried and owned them from many of the putter makers but the balance and feel of the Dale are superior IMO….
